MemberEveryone that i’ve talked to with this problem has Tiscali as their ISP. I smell a rat. This might be something to do with their not so fair “fair usage policy”.

MemberI haven’t tried what you said, but oddly enough, i’ve been on for a few hours so far and it hasn’t signed me out once.
However, i’m having problems with googletalk now. I’m guessing it may be a problem with my router. I’ll post in that forum.
Thanks for all your advice.

MemberI understand your advice, because that was my immediate reaction. But after a week or so now it’s looking like it could be something else.
I logged myself in through trillion while i was at school, since it can keep a record of connection activity which i could look over later. And, to be fair, it only signed me in and out maybe once an hour, which i can live with. It seems to be worse in the evenings.
I’m not alone; a friend of mine has almost an identical problem, and he seems convinced its his router. However, many of my friends, who all live in the same area, have reported no such disconnections.
When i do manage to stay connected, a lot of my messages and messages from my contacts seem to get lost. I know this because the “so and so is typing a message” label comes up at the bottom, but stops without an accompanying message. When i ask them if they sent something, they say that they had. At one point we had to have a conversation solely through the handwriting tab feature since they were the only messages getting through 🙁

Memberim using a dekstop computer connected directly to the router. And, like i said, it works fine on my sisters laptop through the same router, and on other accounts on my pc. I tried disabling the firewall and it still continued.
I’m not running any proxy software.
I just don’t understand how it could be isolated to a single account?
