MemberHere is what you can try:
(1) close yahoo messenger
(2) goto mail.yahoo.com and logout
(3) delete the yahoo.com cookie from your web browser
(4) reload yahoo, and voice chat should work againI have used this technique successfully three times now. Don’t know why it works, and I am not sure if any steps can be skipped. In one case, both me and my girlfriend had to do this – otherwise only I had to.

MemberThis happens to us all the time – royal pain in the rump. As already stated, sometimes it lasts for minutes and other times it lasts for hours. Can’t offer a solution … tried everything: alternative user name, reloading yahoo, rebooting the computer, resetting router … nothing works.
I am unable to telnet to the voice servers as per yahoo help page, but yahoo has not responded to the feedback form.
I don’t know if its a router issue or not, I’m using a Netgear Rp614x4 … since voice works to begin with, I would think the port forwarding is setup right – it is a problem reconnecting. I disable the SPI firewall, still don’t work … set up the DMZ zone, still don’t work.
There must be a way to fix this. Any solutions for this greatly appreciated here.

MemberWe tried MSN – upon turning voice on, it trys to adjust the level of my mic and the next thing ya know feedback to all heck. We tried AIM – sound quality sucks. We’ve tried buddyphone … we tried TeamTalk … in fact, we’ve tried at least 2 dozen VoIP proggies and they all suck. Yahoo yeilds the best quality audio and thats what we perfer to use.
Doesnt seem to matter how many programs she has in memory, can happen with only Yahoo in memory. We both have cable modems, at one time she had dialup and it still did the same thing.
I think the locking up has something to do with her soundcard, not sure what causes the button sticking. Maybe RAM – I believe she has 64 Megs – gonna drop a stick of RAM in the mail for her right away. 🙂

MemberAwweeee … thats so sweet! She will love it – I know cause I have tons of doodles saved for my fince! I plan to print them out and put them in a scrape book for her along with other poems and emails I’ve sent her. 🙂
Ok – so like … to save a doodle …. press the PrtScr key – this takes a screensnapshot … then, load a graphic editing program and PASTE into a new image. You can now cut out the doodle and save it in any format you want. I like .jpg – it gives them a water-color look, or you can use .GIF or .PNG if you perfer crisp and clear.
Good Luck!
