Go to the ZA forum, Zone Labs User Forum , and have a good time, reading all the complains there (mine included)lella
Memberthank you for your answer
I found out what the problem is: it is the IM security of ZoneAlarm, i thought about checking their forum after i posted here and there i saw there are loaaaaaaaaaaads of people with the same problem. Solutions? None, until they put their act together:o Charming, from something i paid good squids for 😡lella

MemberMiamiGuy wrote:When you say you lose all contacts after the first login, do you mean to say that after you log on again they are all there or is it every time you sign in that they do not appear? Do you have any add-ons for MSN Messenger installed? If so remove those and see if the problem continues.
All add ons uninstalled.Otherwise, try restarting your computer and see if the contacts reappear. If this does not help, you can see if your contacts are still in the My allow list. In Messenger, click the tools menu, then click options. In the box that appears click the privacy tab. Here you will see on the left a list called My allow list. Here you can add each contacts to your list again. To do so right click on a contact and choose add to contacts.
If your contacts are not listed here then the problem is probably on the MSN server. You can try signing in on a different computer to see if your contact list appears, but if this is not the case you will have to add each contact again.
All the contacts are alive and present in Windows Messenger, thats why i think its a server problem, or maybe some bit missing in the files, dunno

I had another couple of mails from help, tried their suggestions (from uninstalling and reinstalling to delete yahoo folder and install again) and still the alert doesnt work.
I will keep you posted on this, in case they find a miracle solution for this problem.
Of course, if it is a program fault we will have to wait until they debug it…grrrrr….with older versions this didn’t happen!!lella

MemberIt doesnt work that way
The option of “let my friends see when I’m playing games” enables my friends to see, in their pager, that I’m are playing, with which ID i am playing, what I’m playing and where……as long as I am visible.
If the option is disabled they wont be able to see if i am playing, they will only see me.
When logging in into games without opening the pager, the ID I am playing with will appear on my friends pager as online, but none of the others will. (not sure if there will be the details of the games i am playing etc, in this instance)
I hope I havent confused you even more 😉lella
MemberSnugle
I have tried it but it doesnt work, because the icon for idle is the blue one, not the normal yellow or the busy one.
Any other idea?lella
MemberIntoblue, you have to go into the mssgr help (i usually do it thru the pager itself) and choose the topic you are interested into. Once u have found it at the bottom of the page there is a “is this enough info'” thingy with yes and no; if you click NO u get into a contact form page and from there u can contact Yahoo help with the Q’s u need. Of course if u go into the status help page there isnt such an optopn (i wonder why :s) but u can always go into any page and it will give you the option to choose which topic u want answers for.
Oreo, what you say makes sense…up to a certain point. Sometimes i dont want ppl in my family to see me online, bacause family doesnt understand the word “privacy”;) (especially italian families, lol) And the fact tha doesnt bother you…we are not all the same and ppl reaction can be different from urs 🙂
