I am in need of some help with a similar problem to the two people above. I am an IT person at a doctor’s office and received one of the monthly updates for our network from Microsoft. Included was MSN 6, we had only 5.1 before. I obviously updated and since I have gotten the 1601 error with any MS Office program. This is disasterous as I was about to launch our new website. Our network in Windows 2000 and Office 2000 Professional. I have tried every measure Microsoft has offered and now I look like an idiot for not being able to clear this up. Any immediate help would greatly appreciated!
