I have found a fix for mine!!! I had already tried the dll registrations, checking the time, disabling the proxy in IE, cleaning up the cache, etc etc.
When trying to check my hotmail account with the browser it would stop trying to resolve loginnet.passport.com. I stuck the following line to my hosts file: 65.54.179.192 loginnet.passport.com and everything went great. Hope it helps.
