I have the same issue with the YIM 3 for Mac as well! Let me know what you find out for the PC and maybe it will help me as well…I miss my cam! :crying:
Has anyone had problems getting the new Mac Beta to see your webcam? Everything else seems to work OK (slight avatar issue), but the program refuses to see my cam (even when other programs are definitely NOT using the cam and I am sure the cam is properly installed on my mac.)
Tried re-install and nothing changed. Tried to open it with a friend and still failing. I will bug the hell out of YIM help to see where this can get me.
So does this really mean YIM is NOT going to support webcams for Mac then?? That’s very short sighted and strange considering they have been doing it already (even if there is no voice for mac.)
I have had this experience as well. It all started last Saturday, 6/3 for me. All of my friends say they get this message regardless of whether its on Mac or PC. My cam is on, I can see myself, but when invited to cam my friends say they get the “not available” message. I also get the same when they invite me. Its almost certainly a Yahoo issue. I have sent them an email, but expect it will be ignored and/or never responded to as there are probably THOUSANDS of emails on the same topic right now.
I have had the exact same experience! I have a new Mac as well with the OS 10.4.7 (Tiger?). I have not had any problems until this past Saturday. I have had the new Mac for about a month.
Most of the folks I cam with don’t use Macs, so the iChat is not useful with some of them. I think the problem is with Yahoo as most of my friends have had the same experience regardless of wheter it was with me on Mac or others on PC.
