You’re ****ING kidding me right? LOL I’ve been trying to figure this out forever! I even made a web page to message my cell phone and now all I needed was a stupid hexidecimal symbol. *BANGS HEAD REPEATEDLY AGAINST SOMETHING HARD*

That’s impossible. What you described has nothing to do with your computer’s power supply, or anything of the sort. It was lucky. It was probably your DNS server.
Yes it is possible, but you have to set the interval to every second and I’m not sure how smoothly it will run.
You could also do anything randomized, quotes etc. You can grab website statistics, grab news posts or anything else of the sort. You can Instant Message me if you want to know how, I may write a tutorial soon.
I’m kind of cheating. I created a PHP script does the calculations I need, and then overwrites index.htm, using command-line PHP, then I set that to do it at a certain interval. It works, but it’s not great. Once you have the PHP script running, I added it to a batch file that also closes and re-opens aim. I want to figure out how to dynamically update it though.

To prove, I’ll do anything you want me to do in PHP, as long as it echoes in plaintext. I can connect to a database and grab information, etc.
I’ll make a quick tutorial for Firefox on how to do this.

Name the stringgeneral.useragent.override
Give the string a value of
AIM/30 (Mozilla 1.24b; Windows; I; 32-bit)

This will allow you to trick subprofile, buddytracker.us (You can actually trick it into thinking it’s the owner) etc. Good luck!

But, what about when you open up a link inside the profile. That isn’t sent, so what if there is a program add-on to aim that could send an info.htm that just opens another site? The Same way Ostego adds the winamp information into your profile, it has to be possible to get something similar that lets you put scripts into it.
