MemberHeartless even I knows about registry and changing it., and the reason why I mentioned the vb script is because in all honesty id rather have someone whos computer naive use that than touch registry at all and screwing it up. and so would many others. registry is not the best play to accidently make a mistake and go oops

Memberno offence to Andy or his YEmote which does work well I havent checked the fake idle to see if it works for Yahoo 6 but I wont use it.. simply why download a bulky program when all you wants is the fake idle, I haves a simple small vb script for 5.6 yahoo messenger which is 700 bytes as a posed to a few megs to andys file.. nah ill wait till someone figures out how to do the 6.0 version cause it certainly aint number 1 2 or 3 for registry

Memberamy has a good point.. it would be a good aturnative maybe nick or sakred or vb might know of a way round it because the 2 does not work in registry as it does on 5.6 messenger.

MemberI cant help you in locating that person but can suggest something and its this are you sure that you manually typed this persons id in correctly ( if you havent got it in your friends list that is ) because that happens to me when I types in an incorrect id and it doesn’r exsist. The other thing is to check the profile and that will more than tell you if it doesnt exsist also.
The only other option you really haves well one im sure of the other im not someone may be able to tell you this, the one im sure of is to go back into the chat room you met this person and dont be stalky either ask around or wait to see if someone talks like that person. the other option that im not sure about is sending an email in that name..if it was added onto a parent id the parent id may get the mail like I say im not too sure on that. Maybe oreo or other mods may know about this.
sorry I cant be of more help

Memberuntamed I am on 1750 also and hasn’t had the problem happen to me however how about ruling this one out ie VB packets menu.. go to his site or shifters and download the current version 1.5 and install it. then try it again and if it happens again then that can be ruled out or if it doesnt happen then you know the dll you had wasnt working for the 1750 version.
when there click on file and click on our programs and you will see the 1.5 version , come back if you are still having this problem.

MemberWhen you go to his site jaded you will see the new version out which is 1.5
Download it to your computer.
Close yahoo messenger down totally.. and click on his patch to instal… and a box will come up.. click on ..Yes to All then it will instal then load up messenger.
Thats all you needs to do 🙂

Memberif you are having persistant problems then why not update vb’s patch which is 1.4 version and you shouldn’t have that problem jaded..and onlyacomputer like oreo said it yahoo has had this problem on and off for a while where some users have had this problem and some users haven’t, however VB has rectified the problems Yahoo has done with that happening on the ( 1.4 patch ) and that should be sorted out…
Also please note he is bringing out a 1.5 patch during this week but the 1.4 patch is a must as it works and works well.

Memberthe file he is referring too is called the ymsgr.ini file which should be in the in the messenger folder inside yahoo folder itself.
Ensure that yahoo is turned off and then click on this file
it should say this if not delete it and copy and paste it all from the very top left of the ini file.
[Search]
Number of Menu Items=2Search Text 1=Search the Web!
Search Menu 1=Search the Web!

caption=Ya see the part where it says caption= now dont leave a spacebar gap after the = just type in something like bigblueball and then save that file.
So when you now load up yahoo the main messenger will say bigblueball or whatever word you wish to put in there.

MemberTheres an easier way go to google and type in yahoo pops and that will enable you to download your emails in yahoo to outlook or eudora or whatever your main mail program is and then from there you can save it in mail format onto disk much easier.

MemberMiami thanks for helping but if you look at the patch you are using which I thinks is Heretics Yahoo 6 Mini Patch… when each version comes out ie 1643 and 1671 he has to update the patch for each version and that patch wont run on 1710.

MemberSakred just wants to clarify a thing or two in your registry hacks
Block Non Buddies – is that another way of saying block Pms who are not on my friends list ?
Disable Voice/ Enable Voice – is by doing this enforcing whether its chat or conference for No Voice or Voice to be activated
Fianlly another thing that is of interest… on Yahoo 5.6 You could use the registry hack for idle.. that Used to be number 2 but thats not the case anymore on version 6 what is this now out of interest
Thanks

MemberWild heres this and im hoping im right here
In theory lets say your computers been compromised by a trojan and in doing so you are left with a few choices… depends on the severity of how you have been compromised you would do this as follows
1) Disable Windows Systems Restore to do that on XP click on this URL
Follow the instructions as follows and keep that url safely add it to favorites
2) Once the Restore has been disbled then it would be in your best interest to download a spyware checker
The two bests ones are Ad-aware and Spybot I haves both because if one doesnt find a file you can usually guarantee the other one has
For Ad-Aware
For Spybot
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
Once they have been downloaded… Ensure they are updated and run them… Follow the instructions ( oh by the way if you do find any files on Ad aware at the end Ensure all the boxes are checked/ticked so they will be deleted)
Now On Adaware it may say that We needs to reboot before we can delete the rest of the files… This Is why I have got You to disable Systems Restore because sometimes files are usually set in there… and with it disabled it makes it easier for Adaware to delete them instead of them being there time and time again.
3) When Done totally reboot… And Go back to Disable Systems Restore…and Enable it… And Create a New Restore point.. so if anything happens.. You haves a point with No files infected or will be returned to system restore ( thats the theory )
4) However Lets Just say that it is in Restore this infected file and cannot be removed You are now Left with 2 choices
5) One is to totally remove System Restore folder and then Reboot your Xp and then Reinstall the Systems Restore Folder.. this will Remove all the infected files that were in there , then create a new restore point ( Yes this does work as I done it with a hard drive on Win ME ) as to how you do it.. im currently at work and its a bit long winded and you are probably better of getting hold of me if thats your wish for that option
6) If You knows what the trojan ie its name then type that in google and you will more than likely find a program that will eradicate this trojan totally once and for all.
7) If All Else fails and You feels your system has been compromised then you may be better of thinking of a total reformat..
8) If thats Your option then I would suggest you save all Files and Folders that are relevant to you and burn it onto disk and then do a Clean reformat.. so when its done you will have a nice fresh version of Win XP and all you are left to do is Windows updates and install your sotware you use for the computer.
Hope that helps.

Membertruth be told I knows the version is out.. but havent yet installed it due to the fact that there isnt a patch from anyone to get rid of the Launchcast and the ability to reduce the size of Yahoo messenger, Im just waiting to hear from Heretic if hes going to do this patch if so then I will install it.. sounds petty but the second launcast is running on mine it causes so many problems with me thats why I sent in another post askign if Heretics going to do an updated patch for 1710. Otheriwse id be happy to tell you whats new and whats not.
