MemberHere's a totally unverified and unsubstantiated post from someone called Hypo_Core on the Yahoo 360 Blog, Comments.
It doesn't help us at all – AND did I state that it's not necessarily authentic ? 😉 – but it's nice to get even a shred of “info” at times like this.Report:
Yahoo services were attacked today at roughly 3:50pm EST by massive I.P. redirects resulting in the shutdown and breach of thousands of user accounts. A spokesperson for Yahoo Inc. said that they are aware of the problem and will have services restored as soon as possible…They also added that the security breech was a flaw in the new firewall services currently in beta testing for new upcoming release of Windows Vista, scheduled for release early next year. Yahoo has asked users to secure their accounts by confirming their identity and or changing passwords to a secure, undetectable one which consists of no less than 10 characters of numerals and letters
CNN had contacted Yahoo headquarters for comment but no calls were returned. once you're changed your pass word stay logged in to either your mail , 360 , games, ect. they can't get your password if you're logged in…^^^ that's the story i got…hope that helps everyone…
tc…Meantime, I envy you guys in USA – at least YOU can go to bed soon, and maybe YM will be fine when you wake up in the morning.
For me it's only 4pm, so I've another 8 hours or so of thumb-twiddling. :crying:But…. as far as “the day the internet died” etc, my gut-feeling is SURE things will be all back to normal by tomorrow (or next day at worst), and in a few weeks we'll hardly remember this minor glitch.
This MAY be the worst/longest, but it's by no means the only time in recent years that Yahoo has gone “down” for a time. 🙂July 23, 2006 at 4:07 am #148698let412

The intergration still works for me.Syeklya wrote:I can't log in!!!! It's telling me “Try Again in a little bit” I DON'T WANT TO WAIT!!! (Probably because so many are currently logging on, it stops others from doing so. So you probably have to wait.July 23, 2006 at 4:34 am #148658dreamondreamer
