Oopps One problem…. It also adds Neowin’s TAB! Which is not wanted on my pc:)

Questions: Will this only work in messenger 6? If so, is it possible to edit it for it to work with 5 and below, for the ones who do not want to upgrade.

Close MSN Messenger, right click the ConfigCache.xml file and choose ‘Properties’. Remove the check mark before ‘Read-only’ then, if any. Then just open the file in a plain text editor like Notepad, and you can modify it.
For those who have installed the Tab before this post, I just noticed that MSN Messenger is set to refresh the TAB’s ConfigCache.XML every 2 days, and it reverts back to the default TABS. To disable this and ensure the BBB tab stays in your tab list edit your ConfigCache.XML (with notepad) and change:

This means you won’t get any updated tabs. If MSN ever does add any usefull new tabs, you can delete the XML file and get MSN to re-cache it if there are any new Tabs announced. But I personally find the defualt ones useless.
I have updated the BigBlueBall MSN Tab install instructions to include this 😀

Dave, it’s not really MODular, and I really didn’t have any plans to make it so (my time being so limited). I’m currently using a combination of the Slash MOD (for the recent forum posts) and a custom query of our own article database (which isn’t at all related to Snitz code). The Slash MOD is a wonderful thing, in spite of all it’s bugs; definitely check it out.

(1) Download and Run this registry file, http://www.freddys-utilities.co.uk/bbb/bbbYTab.reg
(2) Right click on this link, http://www.freddys-utilities.co.uk/bbb/bbb.bmp , select “save target” and save as bbb.bmp in c:program filesyahoo!messengerYView
(3) Open Yahoo! Messenger, login>>preferences, “content” and add Big Blue Ball to the list!
