ParticipantHi all… I need your help! I saw similar topics to mine but none of the fixes they had worked for me.
My yahoo I can see my writing as I type it, but as soon as I click send I can’t see anything, also I can see the person typing a response but cannot see their text once they send it.
I’ve enabled scripting, installed earlier versions, my text is not white, changed my general preferences, disabled my firewall, disabled my anti virus thing, etc. I really don’t know what else to do! This has been a problem for about a week now and I’m at my wits end!

ParticipantHello and welcome to BBB! This is a most frustrating problem, I know as I’ve had it before. Give this a try – it worked for me and a number of other people:
Go into your browser settings and make sure you do NOT block any pop-ups. Also check all tool bars you may have added (Google, Yahoo, etc.) and ensure none of them are blocking pop ups either (since most of them have an option to do so.) If you happen to have Firefox installed (or AOL for that matter) they both have their own pop-up blockers and you’d need to disable them as well. The object is to turn off all pop up blockers everywhere you can find.
It means you’ll have to deal with pop-ups when you’re on the internet, but it seems to stop the problem from happening in text. I haven’t found it too terribly inconvenient when I’m surfing the net. Please let me know if this works!

ModeratorDo you have Zone Alarm in your system? If so, uninstall it completely, reboot and see whether the problem recurs.

ParticipantNo zone alarm.. just windows defender which I disabled, and mcafee which I also disabled. I disabled my firefox as well. It’s so irritating!! I don’t understand what on earth is the problem.
Although I recently had spyware on my computer..as soon as I downloaded programs to get rid of the spyware, that is when yahoo stopped working. I have uninstalled all the programs I used for that though, so i’m not sure what else it could be.
I appreciate any further advice, and thank you for the replies so far!

ModeratorHave you tried uninstalling Yahoo Messenger completely and then downloading the latest stable version to install?

ParticipantYes, I have tried that many different times with many different versions.

ModeratorApril, this is not a solution, but can you sign in to Yahoo Web Messenger without any of the text problems?

ParticipantFirefox has it’s own pop-up blocker, have you made sure to disable it as well as any you have in IE and on any toolbars?

ParticipantWhen you said you turned on scripting, it didn’t actually go on.
However having scripts on can also pose a security risk.
Specially VBS
But glad you got your problem sorted 🙂

ParticipantWeird! I checked the scripting thing in both IE and FF several times and they always said they were on.

ParticipantI’m having the same problem and thought I should reply to this post instead of starting a new one.
I’ve tried all the suggestions here and none have worked.
When I tried keloo05’s suggestions I got an error that said:
The module was loaded but the call toDllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80004005
What’s even stranger is that this has happened twice to me. Both times yahoo messenger stops working on both of my computers ( at the same time, out of the blue after it as been working perfectly a moment prior). The only common link between them being that they are both on the same wireless network. (one is laptop and one a desktop)
I run about multiple screen names at once for work related purposes and none of my names will work properly. They do not work on regular yahoo messenger, trillian, or pidgin.
I have the exact same problem as the original poster.
The first time it happened it seemed to fix itself and I’m not really sure how. Then it just happened again an hour ago and I have no clue how to resolve this.
Any help would be appreciated.
I have tried creating a new screename and that doesn’t work either.
