You may also like to read this article: GOP candidate says 9/11 attacks were a hoax, in which a Republican (GWBush’s party, mind you) states that she believes the attacks were “meant to soften us up” for things like more stringent laws, the war on terror, etc.
I had wondered about something like that shortly after the attack had happened. Many years ago there was a famous attack on a civilian ocean liner (Luissitannia -spelling?) that got the US involved in the second world war. That attack was appearantly known about ahead of time by the British government, who did nothing in the hopes that this would get the Americans involved and turn the tides in the War.
Now, obviously you would hope in this day and age that this sort of government thing couldn’t happen. And the odds are against it. But, it is not impossible… which is the frightening thing. Believing that governments are self regulated and non corruptible would be naive.
How does that saying go? Money corrupts, and power corrupts absolutely… or something like that.
Perhaps, it was just what it was… a sad sickening act of terrorism. Perhaps, there is more to it. I doubt I will know the answer to that in my life time, but the truth will come out… what ever it happens to be.
