I mean, its time that we realize that once all the oil is gone, its gone for a few million years, we need to look at other forms of energy. Hybrid vehicles are a good place to start and try to eliminate the gasoline altogether.

We have a few years to devolp all these technologies, renewables and yes hydrogen cars; may these cars come on roads as early as possible.:(September 4, 2005 at 3:06 am #128998DrBroccoliParticipantLets hope and pray they do, not only will we run out of oil, but its destroying the planet, and there is some scientific research that Hurricane Katrina was so massive due to Global Warming, which is related to the high use of oil used for gasoline, and the pollutants it creates.

Yeah, here in NY it is pretty expensive also… I think about $2.39 on average?
I find this funny now 😀
Its about 3.05 over here in central Iowa
July 17, 2007 at 11:53 am #128979TigerbladeParticipant…it was hovering around $3.15 here for a while, then jumped for no apparent reason last weekend up to $3.59.
And now it’s down around $3.25. See how that works? Skyrocket it, then ease off a few pennies so people are relaxed about it. It’s still WAY higher than need be, but who cares? It’s lower than it was.
July 17, 2007 at 4:43 pm #129008PolarBearNPRParticipantHeh – just paid $2.84 for it! Can’t believe that excited me. But there were lots of people in line for it. Woohoo.

Yeah… like I said, Saturday it was jumping to $3.50, so people were lining up at the stations that still had it for $3.19 or thereabouts. Now, three days later on Tuesday, it’s down all the way to $3.11… at least… that’s what I filled up at. I was informed by my dad that a place further down the street had $3.05. Fantastic.
I’m still waiting for it to go back to $0.97/gal.

Wouldn’t that be nice! But thats never going to happen now because everybody is looking for 2.50 per gallon and thinking its a good deal.
They’ve got us brainwashed I’m telling you!
So, does anybody know why gas prices jumped? I mean the “excuse” that they use. Everybody knows the real reason: because they can.anyway, its down to $2.99 now.
July 19, 2007 at 1:06 am #128970detn8rParticipantI don’t remember how to do the math, so you ass backward United Staters can 😉 It’s 97.3 (liters).
July 23, 2007 at 2:40 pm #128968Jeff HesterKeymasterThat’ll be around 26 gallons.
July 23, 2007 at 3:18 pm #129009PolarBearNPRParticipantUmm – I think he meant it was $0.97.3 per liter. Not only do we need to convert liter to gallon, but Canadian to American dollars. Too much math for me right now.
The latest: GAH! $2.61 a gallon now – what gives?
July 23, 2007 at 10:53 pm #128981TigerbladeParticipantlucky. it’s still 2.87 here. There’s one station that’s hanging on for dear life to the higher prices. He still has it posted as 3.11… and yet no one is filling up at that station.
I can’t imagine why. It’s a mystery.

It’s surly because he has bread on sale in the store. Who would want to fill up when they can buy BREAD?!
