MemberOhh yeah…I’m on Cingular service and my friends were on Nextel and Verizon, so I believe it should work for just about anything. Let me know how everything works out for all of you.

MemberTo turn aim forwarding off ***This is what u do***
1. go to http://www.aim.com
2. on the left in the purple/blue box, go down to the last one that says aim mobile device
3. Click on that link, and a new window will appear…scroll down to the lower right corner, and click on the link that says “Don’t have aim phone?Get your IMs forwarded to your cell!” which is the first link
4. On the page that comes up when u click the link… *Be sure to do these TWO things***
– Unclick the box which is next to enable aim fowarding
– Then, under that, there should be a series of boxes where ur cell phone number should be. Delete your number from all the boxes.
-After ur number is deleted, click okay which is at the bottom
-After u click okay, it should refresh to the same page, without your number in the boxes and the box un checked. There will also be an error message under the boxes where your number should be. Ignore it because it means nothing. Just exit outa it and ur problem should be fixed. To check if its fixed, turn on your away message and see if the yellow away message icon appears next to your name, or the mobile device icon appears next to your name.So far this has worked for everyone who wanted to get rid of im fowarding, wheather or not their on aim or aol, and it didn’t matter what cell phone service they are using.

MemberI’m pretty sure that AIM wireless only works on AT&T Wireless, Freeup, Nextel, Sprint, T-mobile, and Verison Wireless

MemberI set up my screen name for IM forwarding, but whenever I send an IM to that screen name (from a different one, of course), I get this message:
Auto response from [myscreenname]: There was a problem sending – please try again later
If I run the new AIM Beta and send an IM directly to my cell phone number it goes through fine, and I can even reply (I have AT&T.) Anyone know whats up with this? I really need this IM forwarding.June 5, 2003 at 5:20 am #64193xrovertx

Memberokay, i figured out how this works, just for everyone to know…. the way that xangel143cutiex
told everyone to do it is exactly right, except for one thing. DONT ERASE UR # FROM THE BOX! just unclick the enable box….cuz then it works properly. then just click okay, and it will just automatically exit from that window. and if u ask a friend to check if ur still online after u sign off, but just with ur cell, then u can make sure it works. thats it. I had sooo many probs w/ this. and im soooo glad to figure out how this works!June 30, 2003 at 8:58 pm #64196desipleasure69

Thats very annoying, so if anyone know how to fix the problem, please post it. Thanks.

MemberHello. I am very mad at AIM and verizon wireless. I found out that I got a bill saying that I owe 20 dollars because of the text messaging. I have tried everything to get rid of this but nothing works. I even went to aolalerts.com. I got to the page where I unchecked the place where I was getting text messages but I still have that mobile thing by my screen name. I changed my screen name and gave it another one because I didn’t want to be charged anymore. Can somebody please help me asap? I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
