i just realized that my previous post was a little confusing. The person who installed my hdd has a high level of experience. This is the problem. When I try to play CD’s or MP3s on my computer they skip. But if i burn the MP3s onto a cd and play them by some other medium(ie a boombox or discman) they dont skip. That is how i know the mp3s themselves arent bad. When i play video games or cartoons in windows media player, they play fine. No skipping or anything like that. It is only when I try to play music that I have the sound problem. Is this clearer? I really hope so.

Quote:quote:When I try to play CD’s or MP3s on my computer they skip. The problem is the sound chip or the application using it.
Quote:quote:But if i burn the MP3s onto a cd and play them by some other medium(ie a boombox or discman) they dont skip. That is how i know the mp3s themselves arent bad.indicates there is no problem with downloading of MP3’s or the quality of those MP3’s. indicating there is no problem OUTSIDE of the computer.
Quote:quote:When i play video games or cartoons in windows media player, they play fine. No skipping or anything like that.this shows that outside of the MP3 player there is no problem, sound is accurate and does not skip.
Quote:quote:It is only when I try to play music that I have the sound problem. Is this clearer? I really hope so.If it is not yet clear to you where the problem is then I suggest removal of the player software, it’s reinstallation and or substitution of it to prove its reliability.
If after reinstallation of the player and or installation of alternate players the problem remains then you have a serious computer build problem that needs to be taken up with the installer of the new HDD.I build computers for income and am aware of many incompatibilities between components as should your experienced HDD installer, if after a thorough retest of players the problem remains then I suggest the HDD installer is at fault.
