Don’t you beleive this guy?
March 18, 2004 at 9:06 pm #48769detn8rParticipantDoes anyone know how long this Messenger page supported the “orange” look? http://www.msnmessenger-download.com/
Also, it seems from the images that it’s only v.6.0. Maybe this orange “look” wont be implemented, but only used on Messenger sites other than messenger.msn.com?
March 19, 2004 at 12:07 am #48794AwesomeSauceParticipantI don’t see any orange…… What’s the difference between http://www.msnmessenger-download.com and messenger.msn.com?
March 19, 2004 at 12:44 am #48768detn8rParticipantmsnmessenger-download.com is the site supplied on msn.com. Why they have a million and one sites for messenger is beyond me.
March 19, 2004 at 10:41 am #48801instant_messageMembermsn messenger 6.2 is delayed to 22nd April.

Quote:quote: Another update today on the interior MSN Messenger site (We’ve named it internal before, but that seems to be the wrong name according to Microsoft). This time we won’t tell you the release has been delayed again, no this time we are going to provide you with the information that all of the features we have mentioned earlier have been canceled. This also confirms our suspicion that the so called deluxe display pictures aka animated avatars are going to be an integrated version of the Korean MSN PowerPlus. So what did change? They have added some more spam about getting MSN Explorer in order to use MSN Photo Swap. The graphics in the help files got a little bit smoother. And they have translated the new pages to many more foreign languages.
If we make a sum of all the changes and information available on the interior site, we can say without a doubt that even the scrawny MSN Messenger 4.0 for Mac update is going to be a bigger “revolution” than MSN Messenger 6.2.
March 25, 2004 at 4:28 am #48767detn8rParticipantWell wasn’t that a huge waste of anticipation. – atleast for me.
And for the record – what the hell is Korean MSN PowerPlus?
March 25, 2004 at 4:49 am #48761Jeff HesterKeymasterI’m skeptical of this latest news. I still think animated display pics are such an obvious win that Microsoft can’t pass it up. Could this be misinformation designed to confuse people (and keep folks from pestering them for a release date)?
April 24, 2004 at 3:18 pm #48792matthewMemberWhen Faizan told me that MSN messenger 6.2 is out, I went crazy (beta) only to find that not much had changed, and no animated display pics 🙁 but we’ll see when it is officially released.
April 24, 2004 at 3:56 pm #48789imported_EvilSephMemberOfficial release is Monday, it was meant to be released on Thursday but a number of bugs and glitches were discovered. The final release on Monday is merely a bug-fix release. No new features are expected to be added.
April 26, 2004 at 5:33 pm #48802LordBoringFruitMemberI think the release dates changed again! I’ve been searching the site for ages and there’s no sign of it!
April 26, 2004 at 5:37 pm #48766detn8rParticipantGive it some time grasshopper. Use a mirror supplied in other threads about 6.2 for the version that was released last week with bugs in it, or you can wait until MSN releases the newest version SOME TIME today.
September 13, 2004 at 12:13 am #48803BrodaeMemberWhere is everyone getting those g-mail banner thingys? I’ve been looking for them for a while.
