MemberPardon me, Nick, but surely NO is the answer to Neo !?!
He asks specifically about the (new) CALL function – and NO, you can NOT communicate with version 6 users using this.
In fact if you DO try CALLing someone who’s on v.6, I don’t think they’ll even be aware that you’re calling. And of course you CAN Call them then leave a voicemail when they don’t answer, but you waste your breath – they will never receive it.BTW, the CALL looks after PC-to-PC (free), while PC-to-Phone is done quite separately: From Actions dropdown menu choose Place a Net2Phone Call (though you need to have put some $ into your Phone Card Account first for this).

MemberFor one I have some ghost faces in my buddy list they aren’t sleeping or anything they have no eyes or mouth:( <—like this with no contents? WHy is that?
The other issue is why cant we do background images behind the buddy list anymore. changing colors is cool but images in the back ground really made it personalized.

MemberOops I thought he said using the voice function. ๐ฎ
For your first question, I don’t know the answer. Are you using the default skin? Sounds like the images are either not loading correctly or have some odd transparency in them. **edit** actually I think it does that when you have added someone but they have not yet accepted nor denied your request. I think this is to better protect their privacy (ie buddy spy lol)
For your second, well, I guess we’ll have to look up to Yahoo! for that one. We might actually have a chance though. Messenger 6 didn’t let you change the buddy list background color, and all of the skinners were complaining. Well, on 7 we can! Maybe they’ll listen if we complain about no images too haha.

WHy is that? … …Hi DR.LI think those “empty” faces indicate that you have added that person to your list, but they haven’t yet acknowledged this at their end (or perhaps they just haven’t added YOU to theirs in reciprocation?).
Welcome to BBB. ๐

MemberSince Yahoo! has released Y!M 7.0 as official build, i think its time to revise the thread title, i.e., without the (BETA). ๐
August 17, 2005 at 11:19 am #102474Eagle_Kiwi
MembermiGs, I think that’s an excellent point. ๐
But, seems to me that THIS thread is titled Beta, so it should remain pertaining specifically to the Beta version.
(There is also a thread still for YM version 6 too.)AND in fact there IS another thread (here) specifically for the non-Beta 7.
It’s a difficult and messy area, but I feel the threads for “non-latest” versions should no longer be “sticky”, which means they just slowly drift away, so the one for 426, above, should then be ADDED to the stickies.
While on that, I’ve long felt there are just too MANY “stickies” in this section – and I’d guess a lot of the info in them is very obsolete. They make it hard to scroll down to find the “live” messages each day too.
Moderators, would it be feasible to collate ALL the good and current info into just ONE “sticky” thread (“YM FAQ”?), updated regularly, so newcomers here could have ONE place to find all the common queries/answers before they go posting duplicate queries everywhere ?
Seems to me that “sticky” SHOULD mean almost “required reading” before posting, but I’d doubt if anyone wades thru all THESE stickies!
