MemberI have just started using QNext and I am currently trying to offer support for it in what little ways I can, I know you can create secure Zones, just for friends, but I found that it can be useful to let ANYBODY share with you by exchanging qn:// addresses, I am willing to let people share with me using a test zone, the qn:// address is 18869/TestZone
I try and keep the Zone open regularly, if it’s down, keep trying or contact me (see bottom of message). Feel Free to pop in and give it a go, I don’t Bite and want to be able to share with more people than just my friends, the Program could include a global friends option in the future so it could be possible to share with anyone in the public domain without having to know them, but securily ofcourse!, obviously you can control what people are getting from you so the global friends option would also be secure, I hope this message makes sense and you are welcome to send me any feedback directly, click http://piropiracy.proboards2.com/index.cgi to contact me and happy QNext adventures people!

KeymasterAs listed on the information page :
Note: Qnext supports the Instant Messaging feature only, when using Qnext Universal Messenger to communicate with MSN, ICQ, Yahoo and AIM IM users.
This tells me that you cannot log into chat/mail/etc on AOL/Yahoo/Msn ??
That would assume you also need to open Yahoo etc to actually use thoses features on thier Messenger – But I could stand corrected.

Definitely will look at having this added in, this is a great suggestion. The intention with Qnext is to make the IM functionality as good (if not better) then other clients. Lots of people are downloading Qnext for the Photo Sharing & File Sharing alone. In the next three weeks you will see lots of features added into the IM that you would expect plus some cool new services.
You are always running the most current version because when updates are available, the Qnext client will update automatically upon start-up.
Also – El Camino. Chill out ‘bro…we haven’t forgotten the Mac community, it’s just that Rome wasn’t built in a day and we won’t release a 1/2 ass version of Qnext for Mac.
BTW…check out PC World’s take on Qnext if you haven’t given it a try yet – http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/article/0,aid,117846,00.asp
how are we doing with the construction of Rome.????????

MemberMac will take as long as necessary to do it right. That’s all I am saying unless you have something constructive you want to discuss.
Are you an iChat user? How do you like it? What features do you find most useful? What is on your wish list for your ideal Mac chat client?
If you can offer up something useful, I am totally listening.

Sorry Bradr,
I just get so mad about all this PC stuff and no one want`s to think of Macintosh. there is no way I`ll ever go PC,,just to much trouble with them. Macintosh`s never have half the trouble that PC`s have..If I had a PC it would crash and never be able to return…ALL I really want is Instant messenger with good video and audeo,,like yahoo but with audeo, and still be able to cross platform. I have heard great stuff about Qnext..I want to IM friends with video and voice, like webcam chat rooms,,like http://www.shockrooms.com,,ispq. I can`t use Ichat because I also have Mac OS X which is ichat A/V or something like that,,and you have to have like 600MHz to work it..isight sounded good untill I found out you have to have 600MHz..
I have an eMac G3/400 MHz 256MB ram 4GB hard drive. and I hope that with Qnext I will be able to do it all….
Sorry if I got you mad

MemberHey El Camino,
I hear what you are saying, this is a very common frustration from Mac users. Your specs will work fine with the version of Qnext that is coming down the pipe.
By the way, there was a great review of Qnext in MessagingPipeline today.

“You could say that Qnext is an instant messaging client — but that’s like saying that Bill Gates has some money, or that Gwyneth Paltrow is female”…LOL
Watch for the IRC connectivity and a few other goodies to be added in during November.

MemberI liked the program very much but I couldn’t connect to MSN. I get a validation error asking me to check my user name or password. (I am sure these are correct, I can connect with other messengers) What can I do?
November 22, 2004 at 1:02 am #76465bradf
MemberHey Heda,
If you have entered your MSN user name and password correctly there should be no issue with connecting. I use this all the time and have never had a problem.
Also, Qnext will deliver you an error message as a “visitor” from the user name you are trying to input.

Memberbradf wrote:Please excuse the promotion…but I think everyone here should be aware of a new product called Qnext. I am a big fan of Trillian…but Qnext is elevating the entire concept of IM becoming the center of the user desktop experience. Here’s the scoop – Qnext is a secure P2P communications suite that offers Universal Instant Messaging (Qnext, MSN, AIM, Yahoo, ICQ), Video Conferencing, Voice over IP, File Transfer, File Sharing, Group Text Chat, Online Game, Advanced Photo Sharing and Remote PC Access. All within one product interface where all services are Java plug-ins.
Basically, if you take the functionality of Trillian, Skype, GoToMyPC, FTP Clients, Net Meeting, Hello Photo Sharing and combine it all in one secure product….you get Qnext.:o
Thanks for listening and please check out Qnext.
HEY Bradf what is the progress of the Macintosh version.???????????
