You can click on people’s posts and give them reputation points. What does this do for the member that you gave the reputation points to?

That’s what the Bad Post button is for. 😉Is there a way to see the amount of total or positive/negative points a person has, or any comments? Or is it just the little red or green icons next to the post count?
If you hover over the little blip (
) by someone’s post info, a ToolTip box appears, telling you, generally, if it’s a bad or good reputation.EDIT: I HAVE FOUND IT!

What I think is rather goofy is that you can’t give the same person rep until you do 20 others. To me, that would just add up to useless “waste” rep until you can get back around to repping someone again. I only rep when there’s an extreme case of smarts/stupidity and it seems to be the same 5-10 people over and over again…so really I’m at a stand still for a while unless I just go around randomly distributing rep points, which skews the count in my opinion. But hey, I’m crazy *wink*

No, you’re absolutely right. I don’t like it either. On my forums, there’s an option to delay the # of hours before handing rep out to ANYONE again…How does that sound?That sounds foolish to me….I mean think about this….”Oh…I like so and so and don’t like so and so” so I am going to give my friend good points while I give some one else bad points. Perhaps the number of people in between giving people posts could be lessened to 15 or so…it makes sense. I am not saying either of you would abuse this…but those of us who follow the rules are often limited because there almost always has to be SOME MORON to spoil the fun. This is just how I see things….it does not make it right or wrong..but it is a reason for the way things are set up.

Personally, I wouldn’t worry too much about the whole reputation thing. If you consistently post quality topics and replies, over time, your reputation will reflect that. It will take a LONG time for that to show much of a difference, and frankly it’s nothing to get excited about. It’s not like you can turn them in for money or anything. 🙂
