I’ve been listening to a lot of Three Days Grace (mostly their latest album, “One-X”) and Breaking Benjamin (mostly their latest album “Phobia”) lately. (the “official” site for Breaking Benjamin doesn’t seem to have been updated since last year)
So…
Three Days Grace – “Pain”
Breaking Benjamin – “Diary of Jane”The boys from St. Catherines Ontario (Three Days Grace) are a great band. To me, they are one of those bands that produce an album that I enjoy listening to. I downloaded all of there songs when they were new, and appreciated their music enough to buy their album. I still have it in my playlists.
As for what I am listening to right now, it would be: Gone by Switchfoot.

Caroline’s Spine – Sullivan
The song is a truibute to the Five Sullivan Brothers of Waterloo, Iowa. All five of the boys enlisted in the Navy, and due to their insisting, were all stationed together on a destroyer durring World War II. That destroyer was sunk, and all five of the boys were killed.
Due to this loss, two destroyers were named “The Sullivans”, and an act was proposed to keep from family members serving on the same ship, but was never passed.
Also, because of the brothers, the Sole Survivor Policy was adopted. This basically “describes a set of regulations in the US military that are designed to protect members of a family from the draft or combat duty if they have already lost family members in military service.” Though, oddly enough, it doesn’t protect Only Children families. So, don’t think you’re out of the woods just because you’re the only kid in your family *wink wink*
So yeah, a little history lesson with your music today!

My all time favourite Spanish flamenco piece.
I wish I’ll learn to play all 6 minutes of it one day, sigh. It’s so hard.October 17, 2006 at 12:59 am #118925detn8rParticipantWhat hurts the most – rascall flatts

A good song to start the day….
though The White Stripes were on as I was driving to work…made me wish it was warm enough to open the windows…nothing like blasting those guitar riffs. 😀October 28, 2006 at 2:23 am #119088LLXerxesMemberThe Beatles – Got To Get You Into My Life
Fine, Spike. I won’t post them in the IRC channel, I’ll post them all here.
November 20, 2006 at 9:21 am #119228PhilipModeratorPat Metheny: We Live Here (the whole CD)
Though I don’t play guitar (I’m a pianist) I absolutely love Pat’s jazz guitar work and songs. I have many of his CDs and never tire of listening to them. The guy’s a genius.

I can’t stand surfing the web without background noise or music.

I cannot say what I am currently listening to as its always a mixture for me. I buy on average about 1 album a month play it to death. I got Simon Webbe this month and another which was poop! But the Simon Webbe was was better for listening to. Basically a R&B/Soul cd. Nice for the car. Where I generally do a lot of my singing! 😮
I saw Oasis have done a cd that comes out this week, on a interview with them last night they were very reticent about saying it was a ‘best of’ album but that’s them hehe. Still I might check that one out this week so I can do a bit of Wonderwall in the car! 😉

Don’t have to be a hippie to enjoy this one!
2. Don’t have to be a Beatles fan to enjoy it either! It’s a nice remix of their stuff, originally done for a Las Vegas show (so I read) And makes me think of them just sittin’ around and playin’ as one song becomes another, and parts of some songs appear in others. These songs “feel” different from the originals – and I like it! It is, for the most part, a truly enjoyable listen.
