Oh ytunnel isnt safe. ytunnel is a trojan. Come on they would say that because then they cant boot. I have used ytunnel and not had any serious problems. Plus i have uptodate anti virus and it doesnt classifie that as a threat. Only booters would dislike ytunnel and dude as for terroisits using your computer very very unlikelley. Why would they waste huge ammounts of money on one persons pc when they can be accessing goverment pcs that are 3.2ghzs instead of lets say for eg 1.6ghz. They are more interested in what the goverment has as they have better hardware and software than any normall person. And if they did access your pc it would be all over the news and then youd be getting offers to do interviews for something you did know anything about. They would be making you rich doing that. Trust me they aint gonna go after your pc.:D:cool::)
June 5, 2003 at 5:07 pm #95466freddyMembergaz, you are right! Someone who thinks the same as me. A user sat at home on his/her PC is not really worth hacking. You don’t get no credit, you’re unlikely to get much bandwidth to perform any DoS attacks. These rumours are dreamt up by those who are directly affected, i.e. those who are about to lose out, being the booters and anyone who feels that a new program will draw attention away from them.
June 5, 2003 at 5:37 pm #95453JohnsonMemberIf you chat a lot, ytunnel is an essential program to have, if you were ever gonna buy a program for yahoo, this one has the most bang for your buck. Ignore anyone who bad mouths it, they are called haters, this always happens, wannabee programmers get jealous of guys who can really make programs that have practical uses. A friend of mine made some really nice programs last year, and he only had them registered to a handful of people, and when everybody else figured out that these programs were out but they couldn’t get them, they would sit and bad mouth him 24/7 becasue they are haters.
When your on top, theres only one place to go…
June 5, 2003 at 5:50 pm #95465freddyMemberExactly.
Some people are not willing to give others a chance.
This has come around because so many people now can just look professional and good, anyone can register a domain and get cheap hosting, but can they produce a website like this for example?
Visual Basic has enabled just about anyone to produce programs with barely any code! There are so many “programmers” out there now, that those who are more than just a programmer, who actually know what they are doing, why and how, are often being singled out as producing rubbish, or worse, producing dangerous stuff, in order for those other new programmers to try get their programs out there.
I try and give any program a chance. I just wrote a long page about a program called y!voice because the idiots immediately jumped it as being bad ( http://www.freddys-utilities.co.uk/yvoice.htm ). A few months ago, I did EXACTLY the same thing for Y!Tunnel, and it was the same people as on that page who tried to make Y!Tunnel fail. Looking today at Y!Tunnel’s success, its clear who was right, and who was wrong, those that where wrong, are wrong again. In that instance, the haters are a group of people who are trying to maintain a website that offers less than adequate information and advice to problems, I can see the only reason for their hatred is to try and keep the attention of users who might go off and try something else for a change.
I myself don’t even use Yahoo! Messenger, I use YahELite, but should I use Yahoo! Messenger, I would have no problems with using Y!Tunnel, although I wish it had been kept 100% free.

Takes a BIG education to repeat the same freakin thing 10 TIMES IN A ROW. Education doesn’t mean you are smarter then someone, ima college dropout my ex just graduated with her doctorate in pharmacy, and isn’t it funny how 9/10 we play jeopardy or trivial pursuit i always beat her. And i highly doubt that this kid here has even been on a college campus let alone graduated from one, ok ok maybe for some experiment lmao!!!
June 5, 2003 at 8:09 pm #95422DavidParticipantMy .02 Cents…
Any program that leaves your HTTP (80) and 81 ports open is just asking to get hacked.
As to terrorists using the internet? Its much more likely than you all think. None of you remember Code Red? Most didn’t even realize they had a server installed. Even now, There are several viruses that will install an SMTP Mail server on your PC.
Weather you realize it or not, the threat of hackers is very high, protect yourself.
June 5, 2003 at 8:25 pm #95462freddyMemberwe’re going somewhere again!
Well hackers who hack home PCs for fun are not hackers, but attention seeking loners.
If a port is open, it’s no use without a program listening for data lol I often sit with a few ports open because I develop a SMTP server and leave it turned on to test how it goes, I also write a website and run apache to run tests and let other people preview. I’ve never had any problems.

June 5, 2003 at 8:55 pm #95461freddyMemberOh yeah, I missed this from my last post!
Why are we confusing terrorists with hackers?
Hacker(properly cracker): One who gains unauthorised access to a PC, with or without intent to later re-gain access by leaving a backdoor open. They don’t necessarily gain knowledge, steal files, or leave any traces.
Terrorist: Someone who terrorises, like the Government.
