Error code 1603

ok, nothing worked for me … UNTIL .. I tried the simplest thing of all.
Am running Windows XP SP2 .. I disabled Norton .. disabled Ad-Aware SE Plus .. disabled Ad-Watch .. and tadah! .. installed like a gem. Would love to take the credit for this, but I did a search on HResult 0X80070002 (which was the code I received before the Error Code 1603 window), and found this solution.
