MemberOkay this is how you can fix this 100%, those of you who choose to make beleive that you are some computer tek or guru, should give their head a shake, and hell ya I should give mine a shake for even writing this, HOWEVER; I have solved this problem in a nut shell…
IF YOU HAVE PANADA ANTIVIRUS INSTALLED : STOP IT
IF YOU HAVE SPYBOT 1.3 INSTALLED : STOP THE TEA TIMER PROTECT
IF YOU HAVE ADDAWARE SE PRO INSTALLED : STOP THE PROCESS WATCH..bam…
oh ya run that stupid unreg thing bs heheh lol… it’ll make things smooth, if this still doesn’t work for you turn off everything you can in your task bar.
THEN: install 6.2 in REPAIR MODE button on it, and then install 7 without any problems.

ParticipantError code 1603
ok, nothing worked for me … UNTIL .. I tried the simplest thing of all.
Am running Windows XP SP2 .. I disabled Norton .. disabled Ad-Aware SE Plus .. disabled Ad-Watch .. and tadah! .. installed like a gem. Would love to take the credit for this, but I did a search on HResult 0X80070002 (which was the code I received before the Error Code 1603 window), and found this solution.Good Luck

Memberhi.. I had the 1603 problem for a while untill I found this website.. I have windows XP and this is the solution that helped me..
1. Click on Start -> Find -> Files or Folders
2. Search for sfc.dll. It should be under c:windowssystem32.
3. Rename sfc.dll to sfc.dll.x
4. You should be able to do the installs now.
5. After you have installed the software, change sfc.dll.x back to
sfc.dll.
6. Done!So Thanx !!

ParticipantDo you have anti spyware/adaware running while trying to install?
i have noticed MSN are going yahoo!’s route of an active x style installer.
Have you tried the stand alone exe file?
my firned had same problem and had to close everything from firewall to antivirus down till they installed it.
….specially adaware.

Solution: I’ve tried ALL the problems on this forum, nothing worked. I found out that my problem was easy and simple too repair, if your running Norton anti virus double click the icon in your task bar, Click Options, Instant Messanger and where it says “What instant messangers to protect” unclick MSN Messanger (Recommended). click ok and get out of it, now try and install, it SHOULD work, it did for me.
Hope this help’s 🙂if so please email me at [email protected]
