This looks kind of shady…
AnnoraxParticipantI tried it out, and it seem nice, similar to Trillian. But it kept randomly kicking me off AIM with no warning. Skins for 1.5 aren’t out yet, but until it works on a few of these big bugs, I’ll stick with Gaim.
AnnoraxParticipantI’ve noticed this too. Trillian is definitely one of the better clients, though not my personal favorite as it is buggy, lacks features free competitors have, and the “support” forums are useless. Nonetheless, I would be sad to see it go, with some improvements it could dominate.
AnnoraxParticipantEven though this was asked a while ago, I think it’s a great idea. I love Gaim despite it’s somewhat annoying quirks (like doesn’t remember window positions) and not as “pretty” as Trillian interface. It has darn close to all the features I want and it’s free and open source.

Quote:quote:To the original poster, when you did the “clean install” you removed AIM first, right? Also, do you have any addons installed?Yes, I did remove AIM completely and now all my settings are back to default. Before, I was running Deadaim and Middleman concurrently and never had a problem. This just happened randomly one day when I tried to log into AIM. Since a complete remove didn’t work, I’m assuming that some parts of the program were left on my machine.
AnnoraxParticipantHas anyone played with the Idle options in the “Away Mode” section?
I loved the idle feature in .637 which had idling based only on when you IMed people, meaning you could use your computer and go idle, but when you talk to become un-idle. I loved that feature and it hasn’t been available since, and every time I asked for it on Trillian boards, I was ignored.
On v3, I see a similar feature in “Away Mode” but it doesn’t seem to work. Anyone have any luck with this?
