By on, don’t you mean signed on? If you do…then the feature you mentioned is ideal. What exactly do you mean?
CharlesMemberJust go on gooogle and search for jelly bean key finder. Download it and run it. It is a nice small piece of software that shows you your product key and lets you change it for some reason. I have a feeling this is what you are looking for.
CharlesMemberPlease see this thread.
CharlesMemberWhy would you want to do this?
CharlesMemberIt is used when your computer goes idle or if someone else logs on while you’re logged on. If you have not selected an away message…then this is put up.
CharlesMemberGoogle Toolbar…it is the best free one…it has integrated google search…news…blog…dictionary…stock quotes…and the handy search feature is awesome.
CharlesMemberAlthough I am using a Beta version…this is also true for the final 9.0 Optimized.
CharlesMemberMrSomeone…you are wrong…
I will show you that it is simply the default buddy icon for AOL users…
And…talking with myself on my phone…(I don’t usually do this)
Now……my self on my empty aol buddy list because I use AIM to talk to people…
And finally to disprove the “it replaces AIM users’ icons” theory. pyromaniac is on AIM…from the AOL Buddy List (AIM Express is down at this time)…you can see that myself on AIM does NOT have the droplet icon…and if you IMed me, you would see I have a ‘Saddam’s Screwed’ one.
Now…can we all go to sleep tonight knowing that its only a buddy icon?
CharlesMemberI love GAIM…seems like DeadAIM sorta stoll a few features from it…thank God its free…unlike DA. It has crashed a few times…but it is worth it entirely.
CharlesMemberI have never had this “service unavailable” error. All I can conclude is that AOL users have an option that allows them to “block” people by making themselves appear invisible to whom they blocked. Are these people using AIM or AOL? I might try using a backed-up copy of your buddy list (if you have one) to see if that works.
CharlesMemberIt is a buddy icon. It is the default buddy icon for AOL if no other has been selected. The background is a rainbow also. These are the default. It is just a buddy icon!
CharlesMemberI am not sure about using ResHack to move the away box to the right and tell it to stay there. However, I have it set so that when i minimize the buddy list; it hides it and the away message from the task bar. That is just me, I like a clean workspace. If I need to check messages, I just double click the system-tray icon. If you don’t already do this…you can enable it in your preferences. Just open them and on the buddy list section select hide buddy list when minimized. Save the preferences and it makes them just disappear. As for the ResHack, I do not believe window position is used as a resource. It most likely would be in the compiled program itself. However, I could be wrong…
CharlesMemberThis is a past topic. There is a tiny search button up near your logout button.
Here are a few answers to your question…

CharlesMemberNP…I have no idea why the find feature didn’t work. I hate looking in the registry manually…it is so big and just…hard to navigate through.
CharlesMemberIt is all in the registry. (registry hack) You were confused with ResHack. They are completely different things. ResHack (resource hack) is hacking a file (.dll) where a program calls for certain objects to appear in it. A registry hack is performed through the registry editor (start>run…regedit) and is where programs register certain objects. In this case, the objects are away messages. I found my instructions perfectly clear. You just made a common misconception. No biggie.
