When you speak, remember you need to either depress the talk button or click on handsfree. If you see the voice bar fluctuate when you speak into your mic, that means you’re broadcasting successfully. Make sure she sees it fluctuate also on her side. Try voice with another user and see if that works, that way you can pinpoint which side has the problem.

Did you try running your webcam independent of Yahoo? Maybe your webcam software is conflicting with the sp1a service pack.

How are you connecting to messenger? Default connection? How about when you change your status, do your friends see the new status?
