Where exactly did I criticize your skills? Honestly I’m surprised you chose a Java based project considering the development tools aren’t as straight forward as some of the other open source projects you could have ripped off.

Clarification: That isn’t the reason I pointed this out, I’m just trying to say you need to re-read the LGPL again.
cowlickMemberReally? As a programmer I have never seen a compiler that simply left out certain text and/or files on its own, let alone one that possesses the ability to decide if it should.
FYI: those 3 text files you included in the new installer still leave you in violation of the license (maybe you should actually read it?… just a thought.)
I have also reverted your Wikipedia entry.
cowlickMemberTry Jabber (every OS) or PINO (Windows only, no longer maintained but still very good. Go to pino.org and you can download the installers for client and server.).
cowlickMemberI downloaded your client and I’m confused…
Exactly what is it that lets you repackage an LGPL-licensed open source product without any attribution?
- Spark: igniterealtime.org/projects/spark
You used high quality graphics for the UI as justification for the large size, so I figured you had at least done something (you know, other than remove all references to the original product) but alas, no… the second I installed & launched Spark I was greeted with the exact same UI.
I don’t have anything against you, it just annoys me when people and/or companies utilize open source software in their product(s) without following the license while assuming they will never be noticed. I would suggest a search for CherryOS before you to continue distributing your product without attribution.
cowlickMemberI’m a hypocrite:
If I have nothing to say, then I dont say anything, but I prefer to get some kind of reply from people when I send them a message (though I don’t let it get under my skin).
cowlickMemberif you’re looking for another message or you need to re-read there is plenty of reason not to show me a stupid page I didn’t want to download anyways. Not all of us have super fast connections, you know. (well I do at home but not at school, it’s dog slow there because of all the file sharing)
And I never said I hated Microsoft. Well I kind of wish they would make a better Mac Messenger, the new (use that one loosely) 5.0 sounds like nothing. “Desktop” Linux can rot; that’s for another thread.
cowlickMemberYeah… I also hate how they stopped taking you to your e-mail when you sign in and instead show that stupid “Today” page… I thought that’s what MSN.com was for! Don’t you think if I signed in at Hotmail that I want my e-mail?! Same goes for Yahoo Mail.
cowlickMemberThe logic is that if the person who sent you the email has a Passport and they are signed in with Messenger, instead of replying via e-mail you can reply with IM.
I personally find annoying but the only way you can stop it from happening is to uninstall Messenger or use a non-IE-based browser such as Netscape, Firefox, or Opera.
