Participantalana’s idea makes perfect sense. Note also that it applies not only to invisibility but to blocks as well.

Participantsomeguy03, I think you missed the lack of a “Set away” log entry. This means they must have signed on with an away message up (assuming DeadAIM din’t screw up). Maybe they had an away message up and their connection was interrupted, so when they reconnected it was up already?

ParticipantWarnings serve a great purpose, but are unfortunately abused. Lets say you’re somebody who abuses people online. You choose a target, and start going at them. They warn you, you’re now at 35%, slowed in your rate. You take a second stab, and they warn you too, you’re now even higher, even slower. After a couple more people, you’re at 100% and using AIM on the SN is pretty much useless. Sadly, they’re used for many other things which aren’t what they were intended for.

Participantjust a note…this last comment only applies if you got a new IP when you reconnected (assuming it was an internet disconnection, and not just AIM).
Cronus
ParticipantDare I ask why you need a proxy for AIM?

ParticipantSome servers reset…its not a collective effort unless there is an upgrade going on. I know I’ve seen some at 100+ days, so it is possible.
On another note….never try that on TOC…..they pay even less attention to that than OSCAR.Cronus
Participantremember, with the method listed above, this is assuming that everybody on your lists is actually online. If somebody who has blocked you is offline, then they would appear the same on both lists, so I would recommend leaving the second SN on for a while and checking when people sign on.

ParticipantRelax, its probably just somebody playing games with you….probably a friend or someone you know fairly well. They mostly likely have a buddy list with some of the same buddies, and would assume you were friends with them too.
Cronus
ParticipantFirst, this is all assuming that you aren’t blocking him in any way on either of your SNs……
Yes, he is blocking you in some way, but it may not be intentional. It is possible that he only kept one of yours on his buddy list and he has his list set to allow only buddies.

ParticipantActually, you can’t remove people anymore, sorry

Participanthaha, thanks panickedthumb, but it was a joke (hence the :P) a day before that, the feature had been disabled. If you weren’t aware, feel free to try it yourself, you’ll find that AOL has disabled the function of that packet.
Cronus
ParticipantWait, how do you take yourself off somebody else’s buddy list? 😛
Cronus
ParticipantI’ve already been able to do several of these through m_m but the ability to add more info could be useful. Good work

ParticipantI’m wondering the same thing, because as far as I know, netstat just lists your connections and doesn’t do anything to other computers.
