MemberSorry to hear your problem is ongoing. I found a thread on here with a similar type problem of seeing but not being able to send messages, where they completely uninstalled their current version and went back to a previous version and upgraded from there once they found a working version. Not sure if that will help, but heres the link to it, and it has links there to find old versions of messenger to download https://bigblueball.com/forums/yahoo-messenger-support/33224-unable-receive-messages-yahoo-messenger.html?highlight=Messages
I must agree with you on the difficulty finding resolved issues here as it seems many do not post back with results to their issues once fixed or otherwise 🙁
Goodluck

MemberThe only other ideas i can think of right now are, firstly to login through chat2 using the browser and to try starting the cam there after joining a room. Or, if this doesn’t give a result, to get the Ycabby files and run them which will install and register all the dll needed for cams http://www.yahelite.org/deep/files/yahelite/ in the files section there. Hope that can help.

MemberHi
Logitech did have a problem with some quickcam models not being detected after instal. They posted a driver update back in February. Maybe worth trying a driver reinstall from there to see if it happens, if his cam model is one of the affected models. Heres a link for the issue on their support site http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/logitech_en_amr.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=3298 .The patched driver update is on the download page on site too.
Ofcourse, if this model is not his it might not help.

Memberhi
it seems disapearing text is an ongoing problem with yahoo, whether in an IM or a chatroom. I believe a solution that has worked in resloving it has been to re-install your 5.6 script files from microsoft, http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c717d943-7e4b-4622-86eb-95a22b832caa&DisplayLang=en ,that’s the download page for XP.

MemberHere is a solution that was successful for another member with a similar problem to yours that maybe worth trying, as supplied by Strigoi
Strigoi wrote:HAHAHA guys here is the solution.i had this problem too but nobody was able to give an answer so i tried to find a solution for myself.
The idea is this:in order to run your webcam properly you have to have the proper yahoo webcam wrapper installed in your “DOWNLOADED PROGRAM FILES” folder in WINDOWS.the thing is that they say you should download one wrapper for Messenger 7 and another one for Messenger 6 from this link http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/messenger/win/webcam/webcam-18.html for version 6 and from this link http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messenger/webcam/webcam-47777.html for version 7 but my problem was that no wrapper was downloading for version 7 so i finally ended downloading the wrapper for version 6 even though i have Yahoo! Messenger 7.in order to make this work though, you have to sign out and close messenger on your computer go to C:WINDOWSDownloaded Program Files and delete the old Yahoo! Webcam wrapper.download the new one(even though its the same freaking thing),restart your computer (just in case) and try out your cam over the net.it WILL work! There is further information and tips in this topic, should that not work for you

Membera quick glance through the FAQ here would also have supplied the telephone contact details.
I have always found the search feature, and Faq section, to be a valuable resource and first port of call whenever i have encountered a sticky situation – free of charge also…but often i forget to use it until AFTER i have exhausted every other possibility instead of at the outset :crying:

MemberKiwi,
i also tried to change my password, and for me also there was no problem. The only difference i can see is in the international domain-the link for forgotten password you supplied takes one to the NZ yahoo? The one i used was simply http://edit.yahoo.com/config/eval_forgot_pw?.src= .I entered my ID, NOT including @yahoo.whatever after the name, i had all the details required, and it gave me the option of on screen/by mail also.Maybe try a different yahoo domain and see if this gives any success?
Good luck

Memberyep, buddy-spy will do that for you, unless they are logged on in such a way that prohibits buddy-spy from detecting them, in which case you still won’t know.

Indeed, what is the point?
But, married1, your site is itself spamming chat, so you maybe have an answer?

MemberHi
i had this, or a similar problem, a while back. A remedy, which worked for me, was to disable my cookie control temporarily while changing the image or uploading a new one from the pc. I did this within my firewall-which was zone alarm at that time. Worked for me, maybe worth a try for you too?
Good luck,
