MemberThat was what I was trying to explain in my previous posts, but I guess some people would rather believe what Yahoo tells them.
enigma666
MemberAs fast as it is now it was even faster before when you connected one on one with someone who also had a broadband connection to connect via supermode. When they upgraded their servers that option was still there along with the current cam speed boost that you see right now. However they sinced removed the supermode option.

MemberSorry but this is not correct. The “super” webcam feature, which was known as supermode, was a direct 1 to 1 peer to peer connection where maximum fps (frames per second) would reach 10fps if the webcam setting was set to faster speed rather than better quality. That being said, Yahoo also included faster frame rates to regular webcam viewing without supermode as it is right now with maximum speeds reaching 3fps at the fastest speeds as all of you might have noticed. This is not however “supermode.” The supermode feature has been removed as far as I know as it no longer gives you the option to do it whether 1 viewer is viewing or not. Just wanted to clarify.

MemberDoesn’t sound like an urban myth to me. The moderator for the Y!TunnelPro forums, Donna, even stated it in one of her posts replying to a user why his/her key was disabled. This is what she said: “I replied to your forum PM…….when we disable a key, it is because of activity that occurs OUTSIDE of your family use……we keep a log, and it shows key usage all over the country, different IPs, different user names, different ISPs, many factors go into this decision before a key is disabled….your key has been shared, whether you were the one who shared it or not is not our concern, as when you purchased, it was with the agreement that the key would be secured and your responsibility.” So you see she says they log all that info. Sounds kinda like spyware.

MemberI have a question about privacy concerns regarding this program. I know that Y!TunnelPro saves your login id and password to their servers when you sign in with it as to prevent people from “stealing” their program. Yes I said it, Y!TunnelPro saves all their users ID and Password to their servers. As much as I am for preventive measures from illegally acquiring the program, I do not like the idea of having my yahoo id and password being stored on someone’s server whether it be secure or not. So my question is will this program be loggin our username and password to your server as well or will you be implementing some other method whether it be hardware based to be assigned with the serial key?

MemberLOL well I would hope you guys would update it in a timely fashion as new Yahoo versions came out because that guy over at Y!TunnelPro is sure slow to update his program. His version 2.5, which came out in June, is still in beta even after Yahoo 8 has gone gold. So just a suggestion, make sure each new version of Yahoo is compatible with it and all its features before trying to implement new features. But if you guys priced it in the right price range against Y!TunnelPro you guys could make a killing.

MemberThanks for the replies guys. I was able to get rid of the momentary pause before viewing a webcam by doing what Chris said about keeping the blank.html file in the folder. Thanks for making this great little utility free for us Tim, as it is a waste of money in my opinion to buy Ytunnel as it never gets updated on time.
enigma666
MemberIt’s not you. It’s yahoo. I haven’t been able to broadcast it for about 8 hrs. None of my friends are able to broadcast either.
enigma666
MemberThis is a great little utility Tim, but it causes a momentary pause when trying to view a webcam which I really hate. Any way of fixing this? About the chat transition ad, that guy who makes ytunnel knows how to get rid of it. Has anybody ever asked him how to do it?
enigma666
MemberAlright I just made a new ID myself and it too upgraded it automatically to the new photos. I guess they are upgrading from newest to oldest names first.
enigma666
MemberOk when I first posted I tried through the photos.yahoo.com link, but now tried through yahoo.com then photos still same message. Oh well.
enigma666
MemberIsn’t running for me. Still has the “The new Yahoo! Photos will be here shortly message.”

MemberI think I read on that buddy-spy forum that you can still use it if you have an old version of yahoo version 5 or 6? I’m not sure though, but you guys are more than welcome to try it and tell us if it works.

MemberThis is a welcomed addition to the fight against phishing on yahoo’s myriad of sites. However, that being said it is kind of useless if you’re like me and like to clear your browser cache out every day. Once you clear out the browser cache, your sign in seal & settings get erased and you will have to edit it again for it to work.

MemberThanks for the replies guys, but I am neither using Ytunnel nor do I have the ignore anybody not on my messenger list checked. I am quite aware of all the changes in version 8. Like I said, this problem just seemed to occur randomly and started 3-4 days ago. It’s off and on. I don’t have any addons installed either so that’s what is quite baffling. The people whom I pm with are ones on my buddylist. I have tested it out on my own screen name and only see myself typing once. It’s not that big of a deal though. I’ll try upgrading to version 8 sometime tomorrow and see if the problem still persists. Thanks.
