WhatwasIthinking, we’re not attempting to hide support access to customers at all if that’s what you’re implying. Also, for the third time now you’ve been told that a COMMUNITY SUPPORT FORUM does indeed exist and all problems seem to disappear when you simply register there and post your trouble(s) if you’ve got any.
The community support forum isn’t hard to miss and contact information usually is out of the way and not in plain view, this isn’t quite uncommon. There isn’t a need to continue to act the way you’re acting. If you’re able to repost my images you’re quite capable of finding a support link at the bottom of a web page and clicking on it.
As for e-mail tech support, Brock and I, the two developers of this program handle it all ourselves. When you e-mail support you talk to us directly and not somebody being paid to answer questions or complaints. We do this on top of development and on top of tending to our forum and managing the web site and servers. If you need support you have two choices, one is through e-mail and the other is through the community forum (which I’ve directed you towards before). Let’s not make it anymore difficult than it has to be.
I only posted those screen shots because you stated that the support links weren’t ever there to begin with when they were, you just weren’t able to find them. Whether this was your fault or mine is irrelevant. Let’s drop the heat from this thread now, it’s gone off topic and this isn’t a place for YTK Pro support, this is a thread on a completely separate forum tracking release information and other happenings related to YTK Pro.
You’re right it has gone off topic. But, just to let you know, my browser (Mozilla) DOES NOT SHOW the support link on your homepage…..hence my frustration and annoyance.
January 19, 2007 at 11:44 am #155843Torseq Tech.MemberYTK Pro Beta Build 260 to be available today/tommorow!
Sit tight… this update will be a good one. Shooting for a release today so it very well may happen. :woot:
January 21, 2007 at 12:24 am #155844Torseq Tech.MemberYTK Pro v1.0 Beta Build 260 Released!!
Many internal changes did not make this list, the more noticeable things did however so here’s a preview of what to expect.
Additions:
[*] Several (10+) new commands were added to YTK Pro’s chat room command line support. Use /? or /help for an on-screen list of them all when in chat
[*] Added an “Auto-Scroll” checkbox to the Global Ignore Bin
[*] YTK Pro now detects YTK Lite and terminates if it’s running in memory
[*] Global Ignore Bin now has an export option
[*] Added Local-only broadcasting option for LaunchCAST and WinAMP support (Only you see the song data on your chat screen)
[*] Ignore filter violators are now printed to the external event logger and the embedded tiny event logger with filter, type, rule and the expression that ignored the user
[*] System tray icon now changes colors to reflect c-mode/gawd mode activation
[*] Added a recently “Ignored Chat Users” window with real-time voice state reflection and right-click menu options so you don’t have to navigate through your entire Global Ignore Bin to see who’s on ignore. With the right-click menu options you have the ability to unignore users, view their profile and add them to your Global Safe List
[*] Added 3 new toolbar buttons to the chat window for easy access to the Global Ignore Bin, Global Safe List and the newly added recent chat ignores window
[*] Info tips / hints have been added to some YTK Pro features with useful information via mouse hovering
[*] Show splash screen option added (TY Venom for the artwork!)
[*] Voice credentials are now exported and printed to the chat screen for those of you who load external VOX programs and/or want the information for voice dominance. The command is /vcinfo to do thisBug Fixes:
[*] Add Buddy requests sent in Flood Deflection mode caused the server to disconnect the client and potentially crashed Yahoo! Messenger in some cases
[*] Global Ignore Bin entries needed to be validated against the buddy list when signing into Yahoo
[*] Contact users first in PM zone showed blocked alert even when PMs werent blocked
[*] Removed ignore filter window’s Clear All confirmation when you click “Clear All” because it can popup under the window and cause the topmost, parent window to be unresponsive (freeze) while fighting for window z-order position. DUH!
[*] Fixed Tiny Activity Logger from eating a part of the chat window’s scrollbar, resizing the window fixed this small issue in previous builds
[*] Custom color for Alert Bar wasn’t saved or applied
[*] Custom color for chat bgcolor wasn’t saved or applied
[*] An emoticon / wasn’t allowed to be typed in a chat room if the message started with this emote, YTK thought it was a command since it assumes the first character on the line ‘/’ to be a command prefix which is in place to help people avoid the embarrassment of mistyping a command, that way it isn’t sent to the servers and on everyones chat screen
[*] The OS can now be shutdown when YTK is active and running *without shutting down YTK first*
[*] Ignore filter rule handling could in some cases potentially violate the zoning concept and allow for the mixing of zones in special cases
[*] Enabling and then disabling of the SOCKs proxy option caused the User Scanning username text input field to be disabled and not allow further text input
[*] Chat room background color was not always applying in some cases, should be fixed now
[*] A bug in the recently joined rooms option existed which involved YTK Pro’s list of rooms and the one stored in Yahoo! Messenger to differ in some special cases, this has been corrected and a completely new parsing system was written which utilizes the registry as before only this is much more reliable and will eliminate all potential issues with list differences between the (2) processes allowing real-time room name updates to occur seemlessly and stay in-synch with one anotherImprovements:
[*] Clear chat screen sub-menu removed from PM windows (no real need)
[*] Improved the denying of Add Buddy requests when blocked
[*] Touched up room list handling when joining chat to handle a special case (certain numerical IDs consisting of room list key/value codes caused Messenger parsing problems if sent first)
[*] URL catcher now has gridlines
[*] Updated revoice delay time which is internally part of unignoring a user, it was too low of an interval and in some cases a user didn’t have “ears/headphones” in chat when unignored if they were voiced (they could still be heard on voice but the image in your room list wasn’t always reflected correctly as a ‘voiced’ user)
[*] WinAMP broadcasts now examine artist and title tags (MP3 info tags), if they’re returned and valid they are displayed otherwise the filename of the song is broadcasted, previous builds of YTK used the filename solely
[*] “Block but Save” PM message replies are not sent to the blocked archive storage window anymore if you have contacted the user
[*] PM Challenge Integrity Checking/Magic Word Verification system is now as smart as the “Block but Save” PM option where if a user’s message is replied to future replies are sent to your PM window instead of back to the verification storage window
[*] License file is now stored to Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication Data so that accidental license file deletion is not an issue when uninstalling YTK Pro and upgrading to a newer build
[*] Recently joined rooms count caption (static control) in Yahoo! Messenger’s “Join Room” dialog is now updated to reflect the room count in real time from YTK Pro and are completely in synch with each other. In previous builds the count was only updated when the dialog was created
[*] Users who were auto-ignored for offenses sometimes had different icons in the external event logger and it looked inconsistent, this now is consistent and when a user is auto-ignored you will see a red (prohibited) icon in the external event logger
[*] Removed horizontal scrollbars from the file transfer screening listview, global ignore bin, global safe list and the ignore filter rules listview as there is no need for them and it looked sloppyJanuary 21, 2007 at 5:01 pm #155800imported_Ven0mMemberIt’s a big update. =) I’m wondering what some of the users here think of this new build?
January 22, 2007 at 12:24 am #155814Torseq Tech.MemberThis is easily the most bug-free build we’ve yet to put out (they’ve always been reliable/stable so I won’t say ‘the most stable’). Not only is it mostly bug-free but there’s new useful features that are exciting to go with it! With Ian’s Spam Filter file (Found Here: http://www.ik-cs.com/ytk/Filters.sav) and this new beta build of YTK Pro, the sky’s the limit.:D Expect things only to get bigger and better!
January 22, 2007 at 4:02 am #155862mfenechMemberI’m impressed with what you guys are doing. Especially noteworthy is the collaboration with Craig @YMLite. Please keep it up. I’ve pointed a few YTunnel users to it and one has purchased the pro version already. I’m waiting to get her feedback.
January 22, 2007 at 5:58 am #155803imported_Ven0mMemberWell, if you or her has any questions, please ask them here, or on the YTK forums. =)
January 23, 2007 at 4:51 am #155845Torseq Tech.MemberThanks mfenech. 😀
Craig is a good guy if you get to know him, and most just don’t give him a chance. Him and I, over the few years, used to not get along at all but that was before we really knew each other. He looks out for me and I look out for him, much better to make friends than enemies.
As far as YTK Lite/Pro… we’re constantly developing them to make them better, more well-rounded and true powerhouse chat enhancements. We take pride in getting things right and don’t slack when it comes to this type of work, in the end everybody is happy and we’re happy because everybody is satisfied (or at least almost everybody). Some of our past critics have even stated how much they’re liking beta build 260 so it looks like it was quite a successful release, only to be dwarfed by the next build to come out (we’ve been working hard on it and it’ll be amazing). Thanks for the kind words.
January 28, 2007 at 1:12 am #155859wilberMemberlol There’s only one problem with it. You have mentioned few times in this thread “Y!Tunnel” so….why don’t people just go there & use it? it’s been around for years, Best add on to yim made today. As well as a free pre-trial version coming up in the next month. All this program is, is another version of tunnel that claims to be “unbootable”. For one thing don’t be miss-lead by something calming to be unbootable, Because for one thing “nothing” is “unbootable” lol I have tried YTK Pro & yea it’s ok but in no way does it have the easy to use features like Y tunnel. I’m not saying to anyone that its better or worse. What I’m saying is why buy something that hasn’t been around but for few months & there saying it’s unbootable lol Y tunnel in no way has ever clammed to be unbootable & never will. Yea there are a lot of features that help but don’t be dumb about this new program its not all that.
This is just my opinion after trying YTK Pro out for few weeks now & in the end I’ll take Tunnel over it any day. But hey maby after sometime has passed the program will develop. It takes years to make a program stick out from the rest.
January 28, 2007 at 1:38 am #155804imported_Ven0mMemberHere is my opinion on some of the things you said wilber…
Quote:why don’t people just go there & use it? it’s been around for years, Best add on to yim made today. That’s debatable. It all depends on the user’s preference.
Quote:As well as a free pre-trial version coming up in the next month.Free trial version Vs. completely feature-rich free version. I wonder which is better?
Quote:All this program is, is another version of tunnel that claims to be “unbootable”.Facts state otherwise.
Quote:Because for one thing “nothing” is “unbootable”YTK Pro in Gawd Mode is.
Quote:I have tried YTK Pro & yea it’s ok but in no way does it have the easy to use features like Y tunnelConsidering how YTK is only 2 months old…
Quote:What I’m saying is why buy something that hasn’t been around but for few months & there saying it’s unbootableBecause it is actually unbootable in Gawd Mode?
Quote:Y tunnel in no way has ever clammed to be unbootable & never will.Because it won’t ever be unbootable like YTK?
Quote:Yea there are a lot of features that help but don’t be dumb about this new program its not all that. There are a lot of ex-Y!Tunnel users who would say otherwise.
Quote:It takes years to make a program stick out from the rest.I predict months, not years.
This is just some criticism/comments/opinions about your statements. No offense to you or your statements/opinions as you are entitled to them. =)

January 28, 2007 at 5:41 am #155846Torseq Tech.MemberQuote:All this program is, is another version of tunnel that claims to be “unbootable”.Very similar to Y!Tunnel, yes. There are, however, differences not to mention that YTK Pro was built from the ground-up to be heavily security-centric. It’s also programmed in a different language (more productive) than Y!Tunnel is. The claim of 100% unbootability is true, think what you want.
Quote:I have tried YTK Pro & yea it’s ok but in no way does it have the easy to use features like Y tunnel. There’s plenty of “easy to use” features in YTK Pro. The added flexibility in YTK Pro might make it appear to be more complex to work with but we’ve got 80 year old customers that manage just fine (I’m not kidding).
Quote:What I’m saying is why buy something that hasn’t been around but for few monthsYou’re wrong. YTK Pro HAS “been around” since April of 2005 when it began development. It wasn’t released until it had just as many features (and many of it’s own) as Y!TunnelPro 2.0/2.5. Just because a program was “playing catch up” for that time span and not available to the public in it’s extremely early development stages doesn’t mean it hasn’t existed. You don’t create a program like YTK Pro in only a couple of months, LoL. It was being beta tested since the summer of 2006 and was released on November 12th officially.
Quote:there saying it’s unbootable lol? This is so hard to believe for you? Look up inverse simplex communication (when in Gawd Mode) and we’ll see just how “bootable” YTK Pro is. 😉
Quote:Y tunnel in no way has ever clammed to be unbootable & never will.Y!Tunnel isn’t “unbootable” because
A) It doesn’t have Gawd Mode
and
B) Over the many years that it’s been available to the public it’s had many flaws that booters have been able to successfully exploit. YTK Pro doesn’t contain these same kind of flaws… proof is in why you don’t ever see booters with YTK Pro “boot” options to specifically exploit a flaw in the program. The one booter that I did find with a YTK Pro boot option doesn’t even work as advertised, it’s only there to make it appear to be more powerful than it really is.
Quote:Yea there are a lot of features that help but don’t be dumb about this new program its not all that.I co-developed this program and it IS “all that”, it’s one of a kind and each new build we release proves it’s worth more and more, there’s no back stepping. YTK Pro has introduced several chat innovations and will only acquire more and more each new build that is available (wait until you see the next build).
Quote:But hey maby after sometime has passed the program will develop. It takes years to make a program stick out from the restYTK Pro is already sticking out from “the rest” and it’s only taken a couple months to accomplish. This program is extremely developed, it’s over 60,000 lines of source code, that isn’t developed enough?
As far as stability is concerned YTK Lite/Pro is hands down a winner, we’ve had 0 YTK crash reports from our members running it since we released the first build back in November (beta build 235). Not to cut Y!Tunnel down but you won’t find that kind of track record with Y!Tunnel in operation, there’s been several crash reports reported by board members and they’ve had to be looked into separately. I have been running Y!Tunnel since 2002 when I purchased Y!TunnelPro, I’m aware of it’s PROs and CONs and stability isn’t it’s strongest point. Others and myself believe that it’s not even the added flexibility and increased protection you get from YTK Pro that puts it on top in it’s submarket, we believe the stability alone is what places it there.
Don’t degrade a program developed and maintained aggressively with a bright future ahead, you’re not giving it or the developers (myself included here) enough credit.
Have a good one…

No i tried the free version when it first came out. Wasn’t anything that grabbed me out of my chair. Have you guys added the hidden emoticons? That would be a plus. Far as my thoughts on it, I should have made clear that it isn’t all bad, Just that nothing really stood out in this program, Yes i agree the protection is great to have is it unbootable no. lol Is Tunnel unbootable no. However with the competition out there to date, Its a tough one to sell. lol Torseq Tech is on the right path good sale’s skill z. I’ll keep updated maby you guys will come out with a new one i’ll test it out.
wils
Oh Question when you guys update do you update the free version as well?
