October 4, 2006 at 4:34 pm #155825Torseq Tech.MemberQuote:Well all i can really say is if this is that similar in build and use to ytunnel it wont be hard for a programmer to make packets for a booter and boot it.
These boot programmers aren’t creating as many “special” packets as they were years ago, it’s mainly about the bandwidth these days used for flooding to boot most users and not the packets as much (hate to tell you that). If you think some conventional “booter” that can be downloaded off of some boot site will hit a YTK user (provided that they have a decent connection) you’re thinking wrong. If I do become aware of anything that’s being specifically exploited in our program (which there’s really no room for) I’ll take care of it immediately and send you and your “booter” pals back to the drawing board with no chance for retaliation.
Quote:so i guess in reality there relly is other peeps just as retarded as Chet Simpson.Insulting programmers such as Chet Simpson and myself doesn’t matter to me, in the end you’ll be one of the guys either begging for a copy or downloading one of the trojaned “cracks”.
Quote:Build a messy add on and sell it then make booter that will boot it and sell themChet doesn’t sell “booters”. Get your facts straight and quit spreading misinformation.
October 8, 2006 at 2:50 pm #155852codedParticipantAdd wildcard ignores for usernames and chat room spam. I noticed bot names are progressively becoming harder to catch with wildcard ignores, because their usernames are starting to mimic legit usernames, and containing less patterns. However they still spam rooms with the same phrases, thus it could be easy to filter them with a spam wildcard, or something.
October 16, 2006 at 8:13 pm #155864PrincessKaliMemberJust kinda curious a few of us have been talking about this new Professional yahoo they have coming out as a paid program.
Is there a set relase date on this program?
Will free users still get chat, webcam, voice ability?
Do you think yahoo user rooms will come back?
Will bots become eliminated? if so in free or paid version or both?
Do you think its possible there will be moderators in chat after the new release? Thanks if anyone wants to answer these for me. Much appreciated if you take the time to do so.

October 16, 2006 at 8:41 pm #155826Torseq Tech.MemberThis is a program written around the Yahoo! Chat ‘free’ service, there is no “pay for” chat from Yahoo! and as far as I know there isn’t any in the works (I don’t work for Yahoo! Inc.). What this program is about, to clear up any confusion, is it’s a flexible program that is an alternative to Y!TunnelPro. The same amount of hard work that went into Y!TunnelPro’s development has went into this program, and then some. Some of this program’s features aren’t found in Y!TunnelPro while a few features in Y!TunnelPro aren’t found in this program (chat icon support namely).
As for the release date it’s still TBA but will debut very soon.
October 17, 2006 at 3:32 pm #155779DermotParticipantI’m sure When the Guys have a working Copy ready to be tested or released they will let us know.
Good luck on the project Torseq Tech.

October 17, 2006 at 3:49 pm #155865PrincessKaliMemberah I see so ytunnel and yahoo merged? What happens to those of us who actually paid $17.00 for a version and not running a cracked copy? I was just told yahoo was going to have a professional version and it was going to be pay 2 use.
October 17, 2006 at 4:19 pm #155861tim2679MemberNo, YTunnel and Yahoo did not merge.
The only messenger Yahoo charges for that I know of is Yahoo! Business Messenger 2.0
This messenger is designed for business use and has some other features that
the free Yahoo Messenger does not.October 18, 2006 at 6:20 pm #155827Torseq Tech.MemberYTK will support the US *free* version of Yahoo! Messenger with voice. Supporting the Canadian version of Messenger will probably happen also, since I know some of my Canadian friends use this (there really isn’t a difference between these two).
Tim brought up the business Yahoo! Messenger which isn’t supported by YTK (or even Y!Tunnel). There aren’t any plans to support the business version but I wouldn’t say that it won’t ever happen.
Progress in developing YTK is going well, it’ll be out soon. I’m currently busy investigating to see if I can’t find a way (besides cloaking) to make YMSG more boot-proof. I’ve got some ideas… we’ll see how they work out.

However they still spam rooms with the same phrases, thus it could be easy to filter them with a spam wildcard, or something.Wildcarding via standard RegExing has been added for IDs currently with character sequences starting with, ending with or even containing the strings found in the rule set (no matter the position in which they’re found). Chat messages will have RegEx support for pattern matching as well as an option to block messages based on literal strings (which you can specifically supply) that are found in messages. I’ll probably add nickname and location RegExing also as they could also be useful in blocking users that have that information available in their profiles.
A good example of a literal string match would be: “Too many bots, PM me to talk.”
An example of a RegEx rule being fired off based on the *c2c* rule: “anyone want to c2c?”
Both pattern matching and allowing for literal string input for filtering have the potential to block lots of junk when used in combination. The ‘flag as bot’ system YMLite uses could also be incorporated at some point (cross-referencing flagged bot messages and using them for comparison purposes).

October 30, 2006 at 1:18 am #155829Torseq Tech.MemberHere’s a “new” feature that I’m demonstrating in this AVI video. It’s pretty funny (and useful) and will be available in the Pro version of YTK. There’s sound in this video so feel free to turn it up and on.

** If you watch closely you’ll see that voice user also get yanked from the room list (ignored their text and voice). Best viewed with Windows Media Player 10/11.
