FallenAnjelMemberhey, thanks. ๐ I”m glad someone responded anyway, because those other links weren’t too helpful, lol.
Where do I put the img src code for my MSN pic? I’m using frontpage, so I can just click the pic and apply the hyperlink, but I do know some code, so I could put it in manually.
thanks for the help! ๐

They have maliciously changed my profile and all my security questions/birthdate/info so i cannot retrieve another password…I have tried emailing yahoo about this but keep getting a robotic response. Is there anyway i can delete this yahoo id?Please help
You should just be able to go to yahoo’s help section and search for “Delete Yahoo ID”
Ok, I just searched for you and found this. Read it carefully and fully, so you don’t lose anything you might want not want to:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/edit/edit-23.htmlIf you have an email account w/ mail you want to save, either print it out, or fwd it to another address that you may have. If you don’t have one, make ANOTHER yahoo id FIRST….THEN delete the account you want to delete.
Hope that helped and good luck!
FallenAnjelMembertheman wrote:but how do you stop it happening in the first place i got booted big time yesterday then somebody tried to take over my id and password in messenger but i decline thery message so can someone tell me how to stop this happening inthe first placeDon’t click on links from people you don’t know. PERIOD. Also…sometimes if you hover the cursor over the link, the title will either pop up, or appear in the bottom title bar.
Another way to prevent this happening is to have a firewall running (I use Sygate Personal, it’s FREE from http://www.sygate.com) and to have updated antivirus running 24/7.
You WILL have things happen, it’s inevitable in this day and age of computers, (I do, myself) but having a computer is like having a car…you have to maintain it, and take care of it, just like a car. ๐
FallenAnjelMemberWhen scanning for any Malware on your computer, it is BEST to scan in SAFEMODE!! Most Malware is Memory resident, and contantly running. It lives in your computer’s memory!!!! It cannot be deleted while running! This is why it seems some things cannot be deleted.
Get into safe mode my restarting the computer, and just AFTER it shuts down, (or right after the monitor green light goes orange) and just BEFORE it starts back up again (just after the light goes green again and JUST BEFORE THE POST SCREEN (the screen w/ all the writing on it), start repeatedly pressing F8 until either 1-you hear a series of beeps or you get another screen w/ a bunch of writing on it and a menu. If you get to the Splash page (the pretty screen w/ Windows XP or 98 or whatever on it) you missed getting into Safe mode and you have to try again. There’s only a 1-2 second window of time to get into safe mode, some computers are easier than others.
You will see a list of menu options….ie Safe mode, Safe mode w/ networking, etc…… use the up down arrows to highlight Safe Mode and hit enter.
In safe mode, only minimal drivers are loaded, to allow you to find problems. Video and Sound Drivers will NOT be loaded (your screen will look all funny). There will be no internet. Most programs will NOT work (except for Malware detecting programs)
Scan with EACH of your Malware programs at the highest settings (one at a time….not all at once as someone else said), delete everything they find. When finished, restart normally, you should be up and running smoothly !!!
For personal preference, I use Spy Sweeper, Ad-Aware SE Personal, Sygate Personal Firewall (free from Sygate website), and Kaspersky AntiVirus. I scan about once a week w/ the first two, my firewall runs all the time and Kaspersky scans everynight at 3 am, and is set at it’s highest settings and to update every hour.
Works like a charm and I never have any problems. Sure I get stuff in my computer, welcome to 2005!! But it’s nothing that does any harm, and it’s gone w/ in a few days.
Cheers!!
FallenAnjelMemberI just looked around tonight, and found this same link. I guess they changed the whole privacy thing.
Aaaaaah well, it was fun while it lasted. :0/
But that’s ok……….there’s still AIM. ๐
Quote:quote:Originally posted by BuddhaSmileYou can edit your friends list here: http://edit.yahoo.com/config/set_buddylist
but if you add someone to your friend’s list from this page, yahoo will still send them a message asking for their permission.FallenAnjelMemberWell, it’s a link on Yahoo. It’s a totally legitimate link. I just can’t find it. you can add buddies on the web instead of on the messenger client itself.
So, how it could be against forum rules when it’s perfectly legit, doesn’t make sense, right?
I posted on a another forum also on the web, if I get the link I will post it back here.
FallenAnjelMemberHowever, it doesn’t work on a LAN. We have 2 comptuers and a laptop. The laptop and 1 computer is on a LAN. I can sign on both locations and it won’t tell me I’m signed on in 2 locations. If I sign on my computer and I’m also on the laptop it WILL tell me.
It’s an ok thing, but bad if you want to sign on someone else’s name w/o them knowing. Mwahahahaha. ๐
