MemberCan you use skype with a cable internet line?

MemberYeah.. It does that.. Are you on dial-up? Because alot of my friends have dial-up and that happens to them.. Your not the only one. And by the way, re-installing it won’t work.

MemberI heard it was because of the router.. and it only happens to people with a high speed connection such as cable or dsl. (Universitys have high speed ethernet..i know that) But alot of my friends have that problem.. it will sign them off then sign them right back on after about 10 minutes. And they would still be away and idle. Its weird cuz i have a cable connection and a router but that has NEVER happened to me. Maybe it has to do with a wireless router? IM me if u need anymore help.. CraziiWhiteBoi

MemberInstant Idler does work for versions 5.x and up… or at least it does for me.. I have version 5.2.3292 … Is it not supposed to work for this version?

MemberNo there is something wrong.. They get disconnected every 5 mins.. but only when their away.. They never get disconnected when their not away.. They also have cable internet so its not likely to get knocked off.. She has a wireless modem and the main router is on the other side of the house. Could this have caused this? I mean come on.. every 4-10 mins she signs off.. then 10-15 mins later she signs back on but shes still idle and away.

MemberQuote:quote:Originally posted by DJHyperbyteAs soon as someone sends a message their idle time gets set to 0 seconds again.
Actually thats wrong.. When the user that is idle moves their mouse their not idle anymore.. It has nothing to do with sending messages.

that is correct.. AOL profiles are stored on the AOL servers.. Goku, the people that do have a profile like that are the AOL users who actually made that page and filled in the information.. That is their website profile… The actual AOL member profile cannot be seen unless you have AOL.
