Anyone in yahoo that steals names isn’t going to steal them using you’re ip from some ip sniffer. If they are going to steal you’re name it will be from trojaning you, or sending u a program with some script in it to steal you’re password. Names are stolen from either cracking/stealing the pw, cracking/stealing the info. Like I have said b4, if you want to be safe, then do not d/l anything or accept files from someone, especially around yahoo. If you are gonna d/l a lot of stuff that you don’t really need i would highly suggest you use 2 pc’s, and not sign anything into the pc u d/l stuff on. It’s pretty cut and dry, an as for all this talk about “hacking” it’s annoying, I have been around yahoo for a while now and I am one of the most respected crackers, in games theres only one guy that ne one with any sense would consider a hacker, he could take any name he wanted to up til 2002, but he was using a couple of differenct exploits, but u always hear stories. Just because someone says they are a hacker doesn’t mean that they are, some people sit online 24/7 trying to convince people that they are hackers, they throw a bunch of computer jargon at you to confuse you into believing them and being afraid, it is really pathetic. I was in chat the other night an this guy targeted me, he first said he was gonna boot me, then after many failed attempts he informed me my account was locked, i proceeded to laugh at him, not many people know but there are servers to log in locked accounts, i tore into this guy for like 10 minutes, and he said i was mean, lmao now that was ironic, he forgot he was the one who said he was gonna boot me.
And for this guy rippin on freddy it’s the same stuff i get from newbies in games, they think degrading me gets them some kind of status, it is pathetic, freddy is one of the few people here I actually respect. Sometimes when you view a profile it says that id doesn’t have exist. But if you refresh it will. You didnt really get into detail what your problem here is, so it is hard to give you a solution.
First off, if you let this guy do this to you, it says a lot about you right there. And you gave him your phone number, that says even that much more, if you have someones phone number you can goto google, search it, and it will give you a map to their house. No one can exploit you unless you let them. I rarely rarely give out my phone number to people online, no one should, especially women. My phsychiatric analysis of this person here(lol@me) is that he is in real life a nobody, and he has been picked on most of his life, and then one day, he found the information super highway, and he figured out that he could bully people around without getting beat up. My guess is online this guy is a excellent stalker, but no real life threat. I have used exploits and what not to harrass people who have wronged me, but it seems this guy just chooses random people which means he’s a real whacko.
You talk to him through yahoo, so right there you could get his ISP and his IP , and report him there. And also, if he isn’t paying for pay sites, then you could also turn him in there. I’m sure they’d do something about it. If you were gonna report him to his IP, you should log a lot of what he does. And also even consider reporting him to the local authorites. Thing is you need evidence to back up your claims, it cracks me up when i see these people on the people’s court, and the judge ALWAYS asks them for evidence, and most people are retarded and have none. Haven’t they seen the show b4? lol For someone to know this much information about you, it is highly likely that he trojaned you and gains remote access to your computer, has he ever sent you any files that you accepted and opened? He could of gained total access to your screen, and could see everything you do, and would know if you are talking to other people. Or he might of keylogged you where he receives every word that u type from the keylogger. You need to become more informed in these areas, and try to gather evidence, to use it against him. And if he is inside your computer, he will know what you are doing. A buddy of mine got trojaned by a guy that i know, and i told my buddy how i was going to pay this guy back, next thing i know that guy is messaging me laughing at me saying i was gonna pay him back, he was watching the entire conversation.
It doesn’t take much to break inside someones computer, i know 12 year old kids who are doing this, if you don’t do anything, then this guy will prey on you and prey on you. Why didnt you ever create a new id? That right there would tell you what all this guy has done, and not use that same website again.
I use an email account of an id that i didn’t create, they will never get it back in a million years, I am not alone, many other people do the exact same thing, with no problems, these accounts are old and inactive. This is very simple, yahoo will ask you to fax them a picture of a photo id, eg. a drivers license, see what they do is match up your birthday and zip from your drivers license, and i have known someone in the past that lost their name, an got it back, only because they had their picture in the profile, they didnt even create the id. If they aren’t mentioning this, then you need to be more persistent, BUT, if you get mouthy with them on the phone and become impatient, then they will just deactivate the account, and if you are 100% sure that it is stolen, and u cannot recover it, why not get it deactivated? You haven’t proven to me that you created this account, still, this is your second post, im really beginning to think that you didnt create this account, your next post will tell me, if you even post at all.
It’s not your yahoo IP, it’s your computers IP from your isp. You have absolutely nothing to worry about here. He got your ip from the file trasnfer that you denied, i would suggest that next time he sends you a request like this, ignore it, and after like 5 minutes it will time out. The only thing that someone could really do with your ip is get a good idea where u live. Other then that, not much else can be done
If someone told you your isp, big freaking deal, I have used this trick to mess with people, and some are dumb enough to be worried about some type of threat, if i was you i would not mess with any firewalls, maybe if you are on cable an have a descent computer i would, they will just be that much more junk on your computer. When people get a firewall, in my experience, it tends to make them more paranoid, because every IP on the internet is constantly being probed, and they will think that someone is attacking them. Odds are if anything bad gets into your system, the firewall won’t stop it. I would recommend using an anti virus though, they can actually be useful, i personally have been targeted many times by hackers, who have wanted to break into my computer, and i do not use a firewall, and i have had zero problems, if i thought you needed a firewall, i would give you one to go d/l, but i just don’t see the need for it. If this person was going to do something, why would they tell you your isp? That makes no sense whatsoever, it tells you how big of an idiot they really are.
Just cause you have something in the email doesnt mean you created it, you could of cracked it previously, and then used it for a while, and then lost it. You still arent makin any sense, an if u contacted yahoo they would of asked for a photo id, an theres a photo in the profile, would be quite easy to prove whether or not it’s you.

LOL, please don’t read what gaz said because it made absolutely no sense at all. OK, you emailed me, and said that your account was dark__kn1ght, and you said that “And I had entered bogus info on the age, zip and what not, and I have no clue what it could be…” but yet you say that “I tried a few things (Elvis, Attila, etc…), but no luck” so right there you are contradicting yourself. This is very fishy to me, normally i wouldn’t think anything of it but, dark__kn1ght is a rare/illegal username cause it has two under spaces in a row, this is the type of id that a cracker such as myself would target. I got some ideas on how to recover it, but unless you can prove that you created this account, I’m not going to help you. I myself acquire accounts such as these, but i make sure they are no longer in use, theres a few ways to check whether or not they are active.
As of right now, from what you said, to me it seems like you are not being honest, but, if i ASSUME you are telling the truth, odds are your account was accessed by someone either cracking your password or stealing it, there are many crafty password stealers out there, i have used them in the past, i have gotten the same people with them multiple times, unless you are on the lookout for them and know what to look for, you won’t find them.
No cracker is going to have your secret question changed, i know a guy who stole some accounts, and he called yahoo to get the secret question changed, and they ended up deactivating his account, you have to know all of the original info from when the id was made, one of the few logical things yahoo has come up with, only the creator of the account would know the original information. Theres some other ways to go about this, but unless you can prove you made this account in the first place, im not going to make any suggestions.Everybody has misplaced or forgotten a password. As far as your secret ? not working with the answer that should, my guess is that when u made your question u put a bogus answer like sdfsdfsdfiw4tisdfg an you can’t guess it. This is a very common problem. If you put your email address on your account when u created it, or some time after u made it, then there should be an option to email a new password to your alternate email. If not, quite possibly your account could be lost for good.
I don’t need credit for the things i do, i get enough credit for things i didn’t do. I don’t want people to suck up to me, i get enough of that. When i first posted on this site it was out of boredom, and i got into it with some people, then i actually started helping people out and it made me feel all warm and tender inside, but certain peoples never noticed. And along the way i made some brilliant suggestions of things to add to the forum, and some was used, and other were totally ignored. The whole point was for someone to dig up the old archive, i’m not gonna do it, i’ve already done it five freaking times. Totally redundant, as far as this forum being inefficient, if you can’t see it for yourself, im not gonna sit here an break it down for you, it’s definetly not rocket science, it’s a forum for christ sakes. As i’m sure you have noticed, i’m not a very patient person, if people chose not to listen to me, that is their loss. I have been back on the yahoo scene lately, and i could post some new tricks out there, but i’m not going to.
First off, in no way shape or form am i affiliated with this site, in the past i have made suggestions, and if they seemed like brilliant ideas then the mods would take them and use them. But if they had to scratch their heads an think about them, they just forgot about them. I suggested that a faq’s be put here, and it eliminated some of the redundant ?’s that people asked over and over and over and over again, but it didn’t eliminate them. When i first suggested that there should be a faq’s on here, i said that we should get together and figure out what should be on it, and in no way shape or form did anyone ever come to me and ask me. I thought that me and freddy could make a few suggestions, he seems to know everything about yahoo. That would of been by far the most simplistic efficient way to set up a faq’s, or at least that’s how i see it. This site has a nice basis, but it’s not as efficient as it could be, i dunno maybe you want a lil inefficiency so more people post and more people join the site? I can lead people to water but i can’t make them drink.
And i did spend like 10 minutes going through the archives to find the thread where i posted pretty much a tutorial on how to recover a lost account, i went into vast detail and i made it simplistic enough for a 10 year old to use it. An i did go through the faqs to see if there was anything about password retrieval or lost accounts and i didnt see that or the suggestion box, even if i had i still would of posted it. It’s not my job to sit here and build your yahoo forum for you, and it’s definetly not gonna build itself. Maybe this will kick you in the butt and get you to do it.I have answered and answered this problem over and over again, i suggested that they put a FAQ on the yahoo forum and they did, but they never put much effort into what all should of been placed into the faq. I have spent a LOT of time typing out how to recover a lost username, i would consider myself an expert in this area, if anyone had any common sense they would of made it into a tutorial and posted it. That’s one reason i don’t post on this site much anymore cause people don’t really listen to what i say. I have done this already like 5 times, and i’m not gonna do it again, it’s ridiculous. If you find the thread, and read it and then you still don’t understand something, then and only then would i be willing to help you out. I hate inefficiency, it really bothers me.
