I had the same problem when I first installed that version of Yahoo messenger. I went nuts looking for a solution and I finally gave up after installing the same program a few times.
But then, one day I uninstalled it, I installed the Spanish version of yahoo messenger (I’m Spanish, you know), and then again, installed the English version and voila!! it worked and all my camera problems disappeared.
I don’t know why and I don’t know how, but the truth is that it worked and so far I haven’t had any other camera problems like those I had (negative image and no color).
I hope my experience helps you guys.

I had the same problem and I had to install 6.0 again. I found it last week in http://www.download.com Just search for “yahoo messenger” and the first one in the list you’ll get, will be yahoo 6.0!

what I really need is someone to say something to me. I still have friends who are reluctant to say anything unless I go first, but just by inviting them to say or to view my webcam can be a good way in order to find out under what name they see me.

I thought of what raza suggested and that’s what I plan to do. The problem is that I have about 50 people already in my list and I can’t remember under what name they see me.
I noticed this problem when I said hello and I got no answer from some of them…. of course, they didn’t know who I was!!!
Anyway, I’ll just wait until everyone have something to tell me and little by little I will sort them out according to the alias of mine that I see in the IM window…
