No luck! That doodle imvironment causes a CRASH EVERYTIME!!! Did the recommended “fixes” NO LUCK!!!!!!!!! I am not getting those annoying “script error” pop ups in the IM window while playing pool however. Maybe they are working on it.
Ok, i’ll pose the question this way……….Is anyone NOT getting “Internet Explorer Script Error” pop ups when playing pool in the IM box? If so, what system are you using? Are you also using Sun Java Update 6 with no “program not responding” errors? This is totaly frustrating for me and what should amount to a serious pox on Yahoo.
I agree it’s a mess. are you getting those “internet script errors” while playing a game in the open chat box? Also, that Sun Java is a mess. All I get is “program not responding” when I try anything really wild like “minimizing” the window, lol. And did I mention, what a mess!
I traced the problem to JAVA update 6 and the lack of a pentium IV processor. Use the old Windows Virtual Machine (sadly missing in new builds of XP) and your problems will go away. Otherwise, get the checkbook out.
Again, the culprit was that darn UPDATE to the JAVA !!!!!!!!! it’s update 6 that makes for smoother yahool pool shooting but……….try to minimize the screen (when you are playing pool from within the message box and NOT in a room) and the system goes to “NOT RESPONDING” read: crash! I am not getting this probelm using WINDOWS “Virtual Machine” and Java “5”. When I install the latest update to JAVA………..bingo! I have 256 k of ram with an old pentium III. Oh by the way, a nice fresh completely defragged windows XP operating system was used. Still………….crash! No Java 6, no problems. But, that windows virtual machine and the “rollback” (we’ll call it) version of Java makes for much less, read: jerky pool playing. I am looking forward to getting a real processor (dual core?) and a real power supply so I can use the latest version of java and play yahoo pool with smooth action. Guess I’ll hafta get out the checkbook.
well i figured out what the culprit was………. the latest update to java 🙁 When you install this update, it takes over !!! and you better have something better than a OLD pentium III !!! Oh well, live and learn…and get out the checkbook!!!!!!!!
I’ve gone thru hell and back with this issue. I’ve reinstalled, reformatted….you name it!!!!!!!!! I discovered this glitch after a period of rapidly changing my display image which led to the symptom you describe read: unable to change display image but avitar works fine. After a lengthly investigation I learned from reliable sources that the latest version of Yahoo IM is one of the most problem plauged builds ever!!!!!!!! Some programmer should be redfaced, but sadly…i’m the one whose redfaced!!!!!!!!
