Yahoo will if they do decide to return them will have to actively monitor all user rooms names.
User rooms under adult catorgories and health will more then likely not be permitted.
They will more than likely use a Network Script over manpower to moinitor the names of the rooms.
As the new Decision came as the DA agreed that yahoo if told about a bad room had 24 hours to remove it.
But giving Yahoo’s past experience i think they would rather just leave them off then bring them back.
Just like us europeans that aren’t suppose to be using yahoo! chat…we still do as to lacks of proper filtering…but yahoo get away with it as they have done enough publically about it.
It will be interesting to see…just think next june yahoo drop their rooms and take their users into an already monitored and moderated MSN chat…interesting concept but very possible.
People PAY for Msn Chat.. and this whole agreement with Yahoo and Microsoft I dont think means that they will be “combining” their services.. just offering a way for their users to contact each other.. least from what I gathered..

The Users Rooms are coming back, but you have to be 18 or older to use Yahoo Chat now, and the new rooms names have to be approved. http://enews.earthlink.net/article/tec?guid=20051012/434c8a40_3421_1334520051012755043409Do you think Yahoo is actually going to “approve” the user rooms or will it just go through a filtered list of some sort first? I can’t imagine they would use the resouces to go through each room name.

MemberSounds to me like somebody is pullin your chain. I doubt Yahoo would admit something like those boot codes..

Possibly a few other things as well.
Do you think that they will make people “pay” to use the user rooms or the adult ones?

i believe group chat rooms are also removed.
/join command no longer works and no users rooms are available as of this post.

Do you still think they will be fixed by Friday?

MemberSashaa wrote:The rooms are not gone, just hidden. If you have the room on your favourites list, you can simply click it to join. Chances are you’ll be the only one there though unless your friends who also used the room have it also. Another way is to simply make the room as usual and let your friends know by putting the room name as your status message, and then they can follow you to the room.If you use Yahelite, you can see the available user created rooms by clicking F5, then click ‘get the list of Yahoo rooms’, then down the bottom of the first column click *special*, then enter 0, then hit ‘enter’. All available user rooms will be loaded in order of how many are in the room at the time. They are not in category order.
What good is this if most people cannot “see” these user rooms?
And MIGs where is this site that has that info?

MemberDermot wrote:User rooms are not “gone”Just the way yahoo publishs them to the roomlist server is.
if you remember the name exactly of the user room you frequented…
type /join ROOMNAME
Yahoo! are working on a filter to filter how the rooms are published on the list on the roomlist to not look as seedy as before.
from what i hear this should be fixed by friday.
😎
Where exactly did you hear this?
Liquid Explosion
MemberDo your rooms have a topic? perhaps with a URL?

MemberSeems like this is happening to a lot of people including me. Did you have more than one name connected to Yahoo Messenger/Chat at the same time? Trying to figure out what is causing this..
