Hi Nhyrvana, thanks for the reply. Yep, I waited at least 24 hours over the weekend between trying to log in and I just let at least 48 hours go by before trying to get into my account again today. Still to no avail! I’m beginning to wonder if I’ll ever get my accounts back! Any more suggestions anyone?
Okay yeah, so I jinxed myself. I haven’t been able to get into my Yahoo! Messenger account at all over the weekend and still can’t! I get the “System at blahblah AM/PM : Your account has been locked for security reasons” message. I can’t get into it by signing into the Yahoo! page either. It’s been about 4 days now. ARG! So annoying.
Not to jinx it or anything, but everything has been fine with my ID for the past 3 days or so. That is definitely a big step up from before. Before, every single time I’d log out of Yahoo! Messenger, it would show people who had me on their buddy list that I had just logged in when I hadn’t. This was happening every single time, every single day for about the last week. So this is a nice update!
In response to where I have seen the status message showing up for my name:
I am always set to invisible first of all. At work I have two computers so that I can switch between platforms of my MAC and my PC. I use two different names on Yahoo Messenger so that I can have it on both platforms simultaneously. Both IDs are added to both Messengers just so that I can monitor my own ID.
When I logged out of Messenger on my PC for a minute and went back to the MAC, I noticed that it showed both ID’s as having “just logged in.” Coincidentally it also showed a status message beside the one I just logged out of that I can’t repeat here.
In order to fix it, I had to log out of the MAC Messenger ID and log back in and log back in on the PC as well and it returned my status to “invisible” for both ID’s. I thought this was just a glitch in my Messenger however a few minutes later, a friend IM’d me and asked me about the crazy status message I had just had up and whether or not I was still online.
This has happened a couple other times usually after having been online as “invisible” status and then logging out – it shows me as being “online/available.” Very weird and very annoying…
Sorry if this is confusing. I kind of have a unique setup here at work.
I don’t think that’s a longshot at all. I know it started happening to me two days ago when I signed off from my usual ID to check my other one that I hardly use and then went right back to my usual ID. It then had both ID’s shown as logged on and one had a pretty crude status message on it.
I wonder if this is happening to people with multiple IDs. Does everyone else that this is happening to have more than one ID that they might check at one time?
