This is all bringing back memories, 😉
one more time that was terribly embarrassing was once, I started out the front door to talk to my husband and oldest son, who were sitting under a shade tree. I was still in my gown and house coat, with my house shoes. I think it was a day when i was a moody old b****, and I had one more thing to say, so I started out the door and i stepped on my house shoe somehow, well, after all the screams, and arms flying, I ended up on the ground, flat of my back, with my gown over my head, for the whole world to see… while my husband and son laughed their butts off. I could do nothing but laugh myself then.
melneeMemberI have laughed alot reading these,, thanks y’all… I dont feel so bad now. I have had many embarrassing moments, and most of them all involve falling. I have the grace of a moose. The worst I can remember is one day I wanted to walk up the road, and I conned my 3 kids to go along with me. We live out in the country, so we were all walking down the middle of the road, and we had gotten in front of my in-laws house. My kids were grumbling about it being too hot to walk, and I was getting pissed at them, so I started walking faster, and of course, I stumbled over a tiny rock in the pavement, and screamed as i began the long fall to the ground… and being the graceful woman I am, I didnt just fall, and get up, I rolled, and wallered. My darling children were laughing so hard, they were crying, and the oldest was yelling im gonna pee,, im gonna pee….. I was trying to get up, before I ended up getting ran over by a car, with my scraped and bruised legs…while they laughed. Of course, my in-laws had lots to laugh at too. We still laugh about it.
melneeMemberOhhhh,,, dont hate me Rusty,,, if it makes you feel better , I am allergic to all the pecan trees and when they are blooming, I cant breath very well. I have 6 huge Pecan trees in my yard, with lots and lots of pecans each year. We have tons of pecan desserts and treats during the winter months. I have froze probably 20 quarts of shelled pecans also. Then I have them year round. I have also been known to mail friends boxes of them across country. I love to share.
Now for the snow, we rarely get it here. Maybe once a year, about 1 inch and its gone in one day, and usually back up to 50 or 60 the next day. You would laugh if you saw the chaos a little snow causes here.
And of course your invited to Christmas dinner, I would love having you. 🙂 You are invited to visit anytime, if to just sit on my porch and swing while enjoying the breeze and watching the squirrels play in the trees with me.
now will you take my name off your list?? please? pretty please??melneeMemberRight inbetween October and November. Here in the South, the weather is bout perfect in these two months, not too hot, but usually not really cold either. I could also use that extra time to gather up all the Christmas list goodies my kids have requested. I think the weather would be the best reason though. I can imagine sitting on my front porch swing, listening to the wind blow thru the pecan trees, and the birds singing, enjoying the peace of the country, all without sweating buckets, and exclaiming its hotter that hades here, I wish it would snow!!! I would lay naked in the snow and make them snow angels I see people make on TV….lol
Well, anyway, I got way off on that one, sorry, Its hot here now, as you might have guessed.melneeMemberI was a bit naive, well alot naive for awhile after I found chat. I visited a few chat rooms, and I was the intruder, and alot of people had their groups of pals already and didnt welcome someone new. Then there were a few that the people were downright hateful, and I dont like rude or hateful people. I got into a word fuss once, and then thought, good grief, how silly. I dont need this childish crap in my life, and if I want to argue with a child, I have 3 of my own right here that love to argue with their mom. And I find no enjoyment in silly nonsense from anyone. I enjoy making friends, and having a conversation about life, family, or whatever. And a conversation that makes sense with correct spelling is a plus. Soooooooooo, I choose to NEVER visit a chat room. I will stick to the messengers.
now I just hope I havent misspelled any wordsmelneeMembersoulgirl, wonderful news about the husband, congrats. And that is a terrific way to get rid of those other kind,,, I only wish i had thought of it. I have cursed, laughed, ignored, deleted, made fun of, and threatened more than I can count. What amazes me is the fact that each one thinks his is definately the biggest and best ever, and I should be thrilled to get a peek I will definately try that website and a story to fit the situation next time.
melneeMemberThank you Miss Rusty, very good lesson for us all. And I must say, you were very polite in the delivery of your lesson points. I learned that I tend to get very very bored after I hear the same lesson plan repeated several times. We all use smileys, and I have alot of fun with them IF I am in a good mood, but for goodness sakes,,, nasty ones? The only one I saw listed that sounded interesting and one that Im sure I would use was the Kiss the ass thing. lol
Now, I am ready for recess, and what tyme is snack,,,,, Im starved…
oops, I mean talk to the ass,,, not kiss the ass, but I do like that one better. 🙂 Does this mean I get a F for paying attention in class?

melneeMember😀 Its been awhile since i visited the BBB but gosh if it aint got entertaining… lol I was giggling when I read what Rhiannon said about the kid crappin…lol. I think it may be tyme the kid learns to spell too.
Personally, I love icq, cause its my first, and I dont want skins for it, I dont want anything changed about it, and I dont want to use it anywhere else with anything else and I personally dont care if AOL owns it, or if God himself does, I just love it. I even still use the older version. 😮 Oh my gosh, I just realized, I must be getting old, I seem to have a disdain for the newer more advanced versions of things….Oh well, thats just my opinion.
Oh, and does ne 1 have the tyme? 😎melneeMemberI have had a ball with this hobbit name stuff. I changed my name on msn to tigerlily and confused several people. My brother ask just what the hell is a hobbit, and who is tigerlily… and I have friends, asking “is this Melanie?” lol I know I find such joy and fun in the things that are silly, but dang if we dont all need to sit back and laugh sometimes. And my husbands name is Sancho Brandybuck,,, so he knows when I call,,, “ohhhhhhh Sancho”,,,, lol its gettin frisky time,,,
melneeMemberWell well, thank you Jeff for this. I definately needed a laugh tonight. My hobbit name is: Tigerlily Brandybuck of Buckland. What a name…..lol

melneeMemberI got the 2001b icq today, and its basically the same as before except with the file sharing and the new smiley faces to use. I know lots of folks think icq is not as great as some of the others, but for some reason, I still prefer it to most of the others. Maybe its habit, or im so comfy with it cause it was my “first” or something but I confess, I still love icq. I do not like the file sharing thing cause I dont like the idea of sharing files, their mine, music is one thing but I dont like the idea of someone sharing anything from my icq. I got the newer version simply for the smileys. And go ahead, think Im silly, or nuts, whatever, but I LOVE sending my smiles, or frowns, or winks. Its just plain ole fun. I also use MSN and now even more with all the new silly fun “toys” there. My name changes almost daily. I love the stuff with yahoo too, but i rarely use it. I Hate odigo, it never works well for me, its just plain annoying to me for several reasons. And if not for one very nice person I met on it, I would remove it, but I would miss chatting with her way too much. So, Sandi, if you read this, do you do icq??? or msn, or yahoo even?
Anyway, Im not a computer expert or even close, but I am a expert “talker” and an average school bus driver/substitute teacher/bank CSR,,, and gosh darnit,,, I LOVE ICQ!!!
melneeMemberWOW, Sandi, I can almost feel the pain you speak of here. If your speaking from personal experience or not, you have given us all some very solid, heartfelt advise to follow. I think it would do us all good to remember that the person we think we know so well, in the box, is really only allowing us to see what they want us to see, and that is where we must listen to the inner voice, the gut feeling. The charm-er may say ” I love you”, or “I feel such a strong connection with you” or maybe even “I can see us together forever” and if we arent very careful, we allow the charm-er to push all our gut instincts aside. I have had a couple of “charm-ers” myself, and I must admit that although I had all the gut feelings and instincts that one of the charm-ers was full of ….well , we will continue to call it ‘charm’, I still allowed myself to give in just a tiny bit to some of the words of love and passion. But, because of a certain situation and the continued gut instincts I felt,,, I came to my senses before I fell under the spell too deeply and I thank God, I never have met anyone from here in person, and dont think I ever will, especially now after reading your story, although, I honestly dont think I ever would have anyway. And Sandi, I hope that every woman reads your words of caution, because there are charm-ers hiding under ever rock, and we must listen to our instincts and hopefully with your beautifully written, heartfelt words, some other poor unsuspecting woman will listen to her inner voice, and not get sucked into the charm-er…..
And by the way, I loved the hopes of a future surgeon general warning on text boxes and web cams…… very ‘charming’Edited by – melnee on 08/31/2001 08:44:02 AM
melneeMemberChrist dying on the cross, then maybe I could remember all the suffering he did for me and I might also behave in the way he would want me to, instead of some of the things I do and think. Also, I might have a better understand of all the guilt I feel for thinking these things. Hopefully I would be able to live the life he wants me to live then, but somehow, I doubt it…
