MemberSeems more of something is with conflict with another. You got any skinning programs like Windowblinds installed? There had been numerous cases of Y!M conflicting with these skinning softwares, normally causing Windows to crash.
Try the stand-alone free scanner from Trend Micro, Sysclean. All you need to do is download the program and the latest definition files from Trend Micro, and see if something is lurking in your system which other AV’s can’t detect. But of course, this is of no guarantee. Best is to get Nod32 or Kaspersky, but there is no harm in trying this free software as a good alternative in testing your system.

MemberDavid Cook or David Archuleta? Oh boy it seems I’m watching too much TV nowadays…:D (with a little hangover from AI)
Anyway, got to give it to David…:)

MemberYou were “booted”. Probably PM bomb. Check Dermot’s suggested thread, I’m sure you will find one that will fit your needs.

MemberSeems like a connection problem to me… Maybe you could try to log-in in another PC (with different ISP) to check if its really the connection.
OR, you could try a clean re-install of the program (I suggest you do this after confirming that your connection is working great).
OR, it could be that your using different version (US & UK) of the Y!M that is affecting your Y!M experience. Maybe you could try to install a US version.

MemberThanks for the replies guys.
I haven’t check the BIOS, but I’d like to ask, if its listed/activated in the BIOS, how can I re-enable it in Windows? I am not connected in a domain.
Thanks again.

MemberHi angelyn420, and welcome to BBB!
I have to agree to z_a_1998 that there is no software (at the moment) that can do that for you…

MemberAlso, you said you didn’t log-on to your account for 2 years, so I doubt if your account is still active. I had another Yahoo! email account that was deactivated by Yahoo! due to inactivity ( I hardly use that Yahoo! account). Receiving email won’t help, you really need to log in to your account for it to be considered active.
And as Venom pointed out, no hacking/cracking stuff here, sorry.

MemberTrue. It’s a false alarm. As long as you got your Y!M copy from a reliable (if not from original site) source, then you can be sure its clean. I’ve had an issue with Norton and Y!M before, similar to this one… 😉

MemberWell I on my part have been busy at work for quite sometime that I could hardly surf the net. Also, sometimes when I visit the BBB, its either the question in the post has been answered, as I think the offered solution resolves the problem, or I just don’t know the answer to the question..:D (its tough being not updated for quite sometime)..:o

MemberIndeed, I think that new app works relatively the same as Buddy Spy. And just like the B.S, results are not guaranteed… 😮

MemberAs Venom said, if message archive is enabled, then you can get your old messages. Please note that in older Y!Ms there is the set date where the message in the archive will be deleted..

MemberThanks Spike!
And sorry if I posted on the wrong place, I was in a hurry yesterday.. 😉

MemberBuenos Diaz! 😀
Have you tried installing Y!M with all your anti-malware off? I mean the Norton may have expired but it might still be functional, minus the latest virus definitions.
Or
Since your anti-virus is not updated, your system might have been infected.
There are free anti-virus sofwares available, like AVG Free. You can likewise use the online-scan from other anti-virus vendor (its free) to check if your system has been infected. Do a scan first of your system, if it turns out clean, then try installing Y!M with your anti-malware software disabled.
