Don’t know how long we can have access to this but there it is.
Not for very long, apparently. That URL brings to me to MSN Hotmail’s ‘Today’ page.
Try using the link when you’re signed into Hotmail. It still works for me.
MistahManParticipantOne thing that sucks tho, they seem to have removed the calendar feature from the free Hotmail. Chats are not free anymore and now this. I suspect that before long all of Hotmail will be a fee based service. Seems like this is where the internet is headed… I miss the free days of the internet…. Ahh well.
MistahManParticipantThey also removed the gaming features, it was possible to initiate game sessions with Icq before. And also no more conferences, multiple user chats. Seems like other messengers are adding features while ICQ is removing them… I get the feeling ICQ won’t be around for much longer.
MistahManParticipantQuote:quote:Originally posted by shifterMistahMan – Try a complete uninstall of Messenger 6, then clear your temp files, download again from http://messenger.msn.com, then reinstall, making sure to say yes to message logging when/if it asks. If this still does not solve your problem, I would suggest trying an addon application such as MsgPlus! which includes message logging capabilities (even encrypted pass-protected logs).
I would think that this would be a feature that one would be able to turn on or off without having to re-install. Odd.
MistahManParticipantQuote:quote:Originally posted by shahidYou may not have Internet Explorer 6 cuz archiving works with it only:)
Well that’s just retarded. I see they’re keeping on with stupid things like not being able to close messenger unless I log off Hotmail and now I can’t use this feature unless I upgrade to IE explorer 6. Just dumb.
MistahManParticipantQuote:quote:Originally posted by PhilAre you talking about Message logging? It all works fine for me…I presume the lack of response is because people have no idea as to what the solution could be?
It’s like the ICQ feature that lets you save the conversation automatically without having to save it to a file. I see the feature but the check box is grayed out. I can’t activate it so I was wondering if i might be a bug.
MistahManParticipantOk I see no one’s answered this, is it cause no one is using the archive feature? I’d like to know if it works for some of you.
MistahManParticipantAny word on if this new version will have offline messaging or file transfer resume features like Icq?
MistahManParticipantYeah I thought of that. Not something I want to do.
MistahManParticipantIn a previous version, there was no need to put the actual file in the share folder, all that was needed was the short cut. I hope this is something they fix in later versions cause it’s inconvinient the way it is now, not to mention it takes place on the hard drive to have files in two places.
MistahManParticipantYes of course, there’s always a solution to any problem. I get that. The point is this program is deteriorating with each new version. The lack of interest in my post could be two folds:
One being that maybe other users here are using older versions
Or
Not enough people come to this board perhaps?!? If you’ve noticed, it’s not exactly crowded here.
MistahManParticipantActually I was on the ICQ news group and this is in fact the new way the ICQ program is set up. No longer can one make yourself visible or invisible to a particular person on your list if you are not online at the time of doing this, which sort of defeats the purpose if the person is online. This is of course in regards to the latest build of version 2003.
MistahManParticipantActually my case is different. I send an offline message, it goes through but when I ask the person if they got it, they say no.
MistahManParticipantQuote:quote:Originally posted by rustedtightFirst confirm that offline messages are being sent before condemning a service.
As the previous poster shows you may not be getting what is not being sent.:DI have confirmed. All my contacts are having the same issue and I have even checked around on newgroups and message boards. ICQ is going downhill fast. I don’t know if it’s AOL aquiring it but alot of things are not right with it right now.
MistahManParticipantBut the thing is that when I leave it in, it even prevents me from file transfering with people who have version 2003. I don’t know if that’s a bug or something.
