Now it seems that the 2 things are not related.

I love your suggestion for people to stop trying to log in to Yahoo! Messenger and just wait “until you read/hear that someone has successfully logged on and that the Yahoo! server is up and running again.” Do we have to put it to a vote as to who that person will be? LOL!Wouldn’t it be good customer service for Yahoo! to post on their http://www.yahoo.com homepage something as inocuous as:
“Yahoo! Instant Messenger is experiencing problems. We’re hard at work on resolving the issue and will post a status here when all has been resolved.”
Good customer service? What was I thinking! Never mind… It’ll never happen… LOL!
Of course you are right, they should announce the problem on the Yahoo Home Page!
And I was so enthusiastic lately about the great communication with the users that they are implementing on the 360 Service… 🙁
But it seems it works only for that Service and not all services…Edit: OK, here is my 360 Profile and Page working again… but email is still down, and I don’t want try to log on Messenger lol

Server goes down… (currently now working!) #148645moraMemberhatedjealousy wrote:The problem with some people getting their accounts locked is that when some people were trying to keep logging in the error of “invalid password” would come up even though they were using the correct password. After various attempts, Yahoo! locks the account to ensure that someone isn’t trying to take your account. So after this is why some people are unable to access their Yahoo! Mail. The error was very random, and was just one of Yahoo’s ways of saying “I’m not working right now.” For those of you with this problems i suggest not trying to log on, until you read/hear that someone has successfully logged on and that the Yahoo! server is up and running again. As for everyone else… The wait continues!
Alright, thanks for the advice, and I think that might have happened to me, since when I first noticed that YM was not working I kept trying logging in a few times, but getting that error box, like I was using the wrong password, what I was not doing, of course… well, let’s keep waiting and see what happens *sigh*
July 23, 2006 at 1:06 am in reply to: And the Yahoo! Server goes down… (currently now working!) #148644moraMemberHere is my quick feedback:
as of now 6 pm PDT (San Francisco) ALL (and I mean ALL) my Yahoo Services are down, including my Business email account! I am very irritated.
Edit: oh, but at least I feel better since now I know that I haven’t been hacked… small consolation…
moraMemberYES the server IS definitely down, for hours already… I also deinstalled the Version 8 and reinstalled the 7, but it doesn’t help.
Also my email account is locked, I think… I have been with the Yahoo Technical Help on the phone early afternoon but they said that my Account was ok, no word about possible server problems, but still my account is locked, additionally to the messenger’s problems.
I called them again, and they have a queue of more than 30 min… in fact I have been waiting for almost an hour to get someone responding, but nothing so I hung up… I can live for some time without my personal email, but my problem is that my BUSINESS email is not working either…moraMemberJust playing myself with this new version…
I was horrified to see my real name (first and last) publicly dislplayed, but I fixed it going to My Contact Details, and changing My Messenger ID from my primary (where also my real name is registered) to an alias… and now only my alias shows on Messenger and IM’s (I think… I hope…)moraMemberBesides, I read in this forum that changing the connection settings from no proxies to firewall with no proxies creates a series of problems with voice, photo-sharing, webcam, etc…
And I agree with sjn, I also don’t recall having ever changed settings, and earlier I could get offlines with the same settings as now, i.e. with NO PROXIES.
So it is and stays a mistery to me why I don’t get them anymore…
