MemberRename that item so that there are no numbers in brackets at all (e.g. to just “yahoo mail”), by slowly clicking twice on the item then typing in the new name. One number only will reappear, and this will be the correct one.

Just to be really clear on this… Trillian (that’s Trillian ;)) doesn’t use AIM 5.0 or any other type of AIM. It uses its own totally rewritten connection procedures (although obviously it tries to “look” like AIM when it connects).

We don’t dislike warez because we fear getting “in trouble”, we dislike it because it’s stealing. Stop pushing it.

If you’re using Pro 2.01 you could try this skin.

Memberstev02’s a well-known Trillian skin dev, so maybe he was hinting that some project is underway or that it could be possible in the future. However, I’ve seen people try and fail to make programs that skin Trillian with the Windows theme before, so I won’t believe anything till I see it.

MemberNope, sorry.

MemberTrillian supports neither Yahoo chat rooms nor Yahoo voice chat. Are you sure this is a Trillian question?
quietbritishjim
MemberNo, the same thing happens in Pro. I assume it’s a restriction of the protocol i.e. that Yahoo stops this from working so there’s nothing Trillian can do about it.

MemberCan you find Buddies.xml in your profile folder (usually c:program filestrillianusersdefault)? If so, try these steps:
1) Delete the buddy in Trillian, then close Trillian.
2) If you use any other programs to talk on the network that has this buddy, check that the buddy is deleted on those programs too, then close all of them down.
3) Open buddies.xml and see if you can find a line that corresponds to the deleted buddy. If so remove it and save buddies.xml (you should make a backup of this file first).
4) Reopen Trillian.quietbritishjim
MemberPlease see WHY ALL CAPS MAKE ME LOOK LIKE A MORON. Also, please use more descriptive thread titles; your problem might seem like the most important, but everyone feels that way about their own problems.
The Trillian developers won’t give you any support unless you pay for Trillian Pro… millions of people use their software, so they can’t deal with all their problems without being paid. As for the actual problem (assuming you’re using Trillian 0.74), if you’re reinstalling make sure you’re installing the latest version (Patch I) and that you’re installing to a clean directory (i.e. not where Trillian was installed already).

MemberThe only one I’ve seen for 9x (including ME) is aTaskManager. It’s totally useless though, it reports every program’s memory usage as round about 1MB, no matter how big or small the program really is!
Edit: actually it reports some programs as using a few 10’s of KB, but certainly never more than 1MB

I know someone who uses Trillian messenger and I think they took me off their list because when I downloaded Trillian and all the names of people who have added me to their list popped up-his name wasn’t there. But when I look under privacy settings at who has added me to their list-His name is there. Is it possible that he just shut off the alert to be notified when I come online or something. I know it’s a confusing question but any insight would be appreciated. No need to post twice, we heard you the first time.
The list you’ve found in MSN is also available in Trillian: in 0.74 go into prefs and it’s under Chattings Services->MSN->Privacy; in Pro click the MSN connection button (the blue circle) and choose Account Preferences and look on the Privacy tab. I can clear this up for you: I’m pretty certain that this is the list of people that have *ever* added you to their list, even if you’re not on their now. They may drop off of this list eventually, but I don’t think it happens the second they remove you.
The authentication messages (the little popups) are a little more tricky. If you’ve let someone add you to their list in MSN then that choice should still be true when you add that account to Trillian, in theory. However I have seen Trillian reask me about people who I know I’ve accepted before, so I guess this doesn’t always work. Basically, I wouldn’t use these popups as a guide to whether or not you’re still on someone’s list.
