MemberI got a Motorola Q off of eBay because it was cheap. I guess it’s kind of versatile with all the stuff you can throw on there but there is noticeable lag if you have too much open. The worst feature is probably the fact that there isn’t much room on the Q itself (for apps). You can have the miniSD card for additional storage (music and such) but it isn’t he same. On top of that whenever you hit ‘end’ on a program it doesn’t actually close it – it just ‘alt tabs’ out and takes up your processor speed. Processor isn’t all that awesome considering it’s a mobile phone so having multiple things is kind of a hassle. Having a ‘task manager’ is good though.

MemberSounds good. Thanks Dave, I’ll look around here more later to see if I recognize any other members that were regulars back in the day.

MemberWell the one that’s currently C: (And doesn’t have Windows on it) is the bigger drive so I’ll store all my info on there, then unplug it, then reinstall Windows on what is currently D:. That’ll then turn into C: at first boot. After that I’ll plug the 2nd hard drive in and that should be recognized as D: after that.

MemberSo for a Windows reinstall the suggested method would be to move anything I want to keep to what is currently known as C:, then unplug the drive, then reinstall windows onto what is currently D:? And then just plug the drive back in, boot into safe mode, take ownership of the files.

It should give you the option if there is more than one disk that would suffice as an install location… so unless your C: had less than ~2GB of space, it should have given that option. Otherwise, that’s really strange, but this was always one of the more confusing and fickle problems.I think the problem was that there was a version of Windows on the C: that was newer than the old one on D: so it decided to overwrite that one instead. And since it’s kind of impossible to uninstall windows I just took ownership of everything on C: and deleted the windows files I didn’t need anymore to get myself some storage space.
As for the three day weekend, Memorial Day! Hooah.

MemberThe thing is, when I installed Windows it never asked me where I want to install it. It just auto-installed into what is now known as D:. I assume there’s no way to make D: the main drive (C:) other than reinstalling windows. Which might be a viable option as I found out how to salvage information from old hard drives (Safe mode does have features!). I’ll reserve all that for a weekend that I have lots of time on. As in this upcoming three day weekend.
Good to see you too David, I half figured you’d still be here!

MemberWow, that took me at least 20 minutes. It was a nice challenge though =). Good find!

Oh and gogo Firefox =)

MemberI’m glad I don’t use Internet Explorer and this adds to it. What about Firerfox though? Does it do the same thing or is that automatically blocked as well?

MemberYou get a Firefox error when you sign onto AIM? That’s kind of weird. I haven’t personally used the AIM application (Or even used AIM on Trillian) for a while but I do know that AIM sometimes tries to access internet explorer in one way or another. You can run Firefox with AIM running though right?
I just did some background research on something called “System Error 5” and found that it could mean that access is denied. Maybe this could mean that AIM is denied access to Firefox and can therefore not function properly? Try temporarily switching to IE as your default browser and see what happens.

MemberSounds like Jake (Spike) is the only person having problems with it. I also have it running and I can even play games like Counter Strike, Age of Empires III without any noticeable lag. Everything runs fine. Maybe Jake’s got a different issue 😉
On a side note 3063/20,000 Frames done =/. Going to take another 17 days at my rate of 1,000 frames a day.
Site says it’s got 100 frames, app says there’s 20,000…as long as I get my credit and my rate of 10-25 seconds per frame keeps up I’m good to go.

MemberQuote:EDIT: To QuikSilverIs your system clean of spyware, etc.? Have you defragged your disk lately? BTW maybe you should update the bios and motherboard driver from the manufacturer’s homepage and your video card straight from the homepage of the chipset brand (nVidia/ATi/etc.). Sometimes things just work faster after you do this.
I updated the Nvidia driver for my video card a while ago. This computer is less than two months old and I run spyware checks periodically, my computer’s clean =). It doesn’t really matter all that much to me, I was just wondering. Finally got my first WU for BBB done. The next one I have says it has 20,000 frames and takes around ten seconds per frame =O.
I see detn8r contributed a piece of work too while Jeff already got his second 153 pointer down and ready. The one I’m working on has 369 or something like that…woo.
Motherboard should be up to date considering it’s two months old o_0.

Since my own WU is only 53% done it will take another couple of days to finish up and for me to even show up on the board myself.Oh, okay. Also, my old account had 1200 something credits on it, no way of retrieving that right? Since it’s not password based and you just type in any name you want.
Lol Jeff’s got me beat for some reason. I have 3.0Ghz with 2G RAM and run approximately the same amount of programs as him and his goes a lot faster than mine. It takes mine approximately 20 minutes per frame. I have 220 out of 500 done right now, it says it’ll finish sometime next week.
By the way, Materia, where do you check how many credits you get per work unit? I’m working on something called p1814_Collagen_POG10r
