MemberWell, I don’t think that it is an error in the burning, because I burnt the first disk again but this time with a program called DeepBurn, which is more popular for burning ISO images, but my computer would still not boot off of it even when I pressed F8 and told it to… well, this is my last attempt before I simply give up on getting linux, so if you had any clue to why its not working, please tell me…

I pressed F8 and chose CD, and it said that there was not a bootable cd in there so it checked the floppy and than when it didnt find anything then it started normally
[W00t! 500 posts… somehow I expected this post might be just a little bit more exiting… oh well]

When your computer is booting, you can press a key to enter the BIOS configuration utility, Usually this key is DEL, F1 or F7. Look in your motherboard of computer manual to enable CD ROM booting.
Heh, beat by Shifty
Yeah, I forgot, you press del to enter the bios setup on my computer, but apparently CD was already the first option for boot if it existed, so I dont understand why the computer isnt booting off of the disk. Any suggestions?

MemberAlso, how do you get windows to check to see if there is a CD and than to boot off of it if there is? I thought it was in msconfig.ini but I didnt find it.

2. Choose File, Create CD from CD Image… and you’ll be presented with a dialog box.
3. Click on the “Files of type:” dropdown box and select “ISO Image Files (*.ISO)”
4. Select the .ISO file you downloaded then press Open.
5. At the CD Creation Setup dialog box, make sure the Write Method is set to Disc-At-Once and Close CD.
6. Select the desired write speed and create options, if necessary, then press OK to begin recording.Good Luck!
Thanks! I cant wait to install it

MemberAlso, just as a tip for other people were interested in formatting their hardrives, there is a much faster way to delete everything, and it only takes a matter of seconds(to delete, not to re-install)
Just open up the good old command prompt(Start, Run, “command”),
type “debug”, and type the following:-fcs:200 400 0
-acs:100
-mov ax,0
-mov ax,cx
-out 70,al
-mov ax,0
-out 71,al
-inc cx
-cmp cx,100
-jb 103
-mov ax,302
-mov bx,200
-mov cx,1
-mov dx,80
-int 13
-int 20
–
[and if you want to execute the format right away]
-g
-q
Then just turn off your computer.
But if you would like to put this into a .com file, type the following also.
-n filename.com
-rcx
:123
-w
-qI have tried this with an old computer when I wanted to update to windows xp and it worked fine for me, thanks max-oc for all of the information.

Try http://www.snapfiles.com (used to be webattack.com) and search under freeware. They always have good free software for those kind of things.

Member78%, its okay concidering that I know more about what you can do with a computer rather than the specifics of how it goes about doing it.

Sorry about the confusion, but somewhere a while a go I found a program for making your own fonts, and I was thinking that you could use that to take images of the individual letters and make them a font with this font program, becuase the site has a sample of the font
ShadowSlayer469
MemberIm guessing that you can just download a free, or trial version of a font making program and take a screen shot(Print Scrn|SysRq) and cut out the individual letters and make them a font with your font program, although that would take a really long time if you really want this font you could do that.

MemberCan you try explaining exactly what is going on? Its pretty unclear what your saying. “fast and retarded” doenst explain much.

Where was Russell Crowe born?
Wasnt he born in Austria? Oh well, the truth is that most people will probably know that instead of the first two questions.
