There are more ways to send files with Trillian:
– Right-click your buddy and choose Send File…
– Right-click the file (in Windows Explorer) and choose Trillian: Send File ToOne thing though… You need to set up a Dynamic DNS host or Static DNS host instead of a WebHop.
However, if your ip address never change, you may use http://210.49.167.37:8080 as the address to your host.
As for sending your url details, please go to http://status.webhop.net/host.html and click the Join the Online Status Indicator Web Ring link.
I’m not really sure what you mean. As I said earlier, OSI acts as a web server. The software has a built-in register page available at http://yourhostname:8080 (replace yourhostname with your hostname or ip address). You shouldn’t have to do any HTML code to have your host set up. It is out-of-the-box.
Clickable IM links are only supported for AIM, ICQ, MSN and Yahoo (not Jabber and Trillian).
Jabber and Trillian links should go to http://status.webhop.net/
This is not in the FAQ yet, but I will add to the FAQ that if you block all other users, you will also block Online Status Indicator.
Just thought I should let everyone know that I got this working with both 5.0 and 4.x versions of MSN Messenger. It is implemented in the latest versions of Online Status Indicator.
This is a nice idea, but hard to implement. The problem is that the first server it connects to has to be up and running. And if it is up and running, it can deliver status immediately. We have to make sure that the OSI hosts are stable instead. 🙂 And only hosts that are up 24 hrs a day will be listed in the web ring.
MSN Messenger connects to host messenger.hotmail.com port 1863. This currently resolves to ip address 207.46.104.20, but the host name should be used, because ip addresses may change.
1. Online Status Indicator (OSI) runs as a separate program and acts as a web server itself. You can place status.jar in any folder (preferrably NOT the wwwroot folder) and doubleclick it. You need to set up OSI on a different port than your web server uses (port 8080 is recommended if port 80 cannot be used).
2. The Trillian Status Indicator works for all Trillian users. It basically uses either AIM, ICQ or MSN to detect status.
I am working on getting this to work MSN Messenger 5.0 as well as 4.x versions.
Please try http://status.webhop.net/msntest.html and post the results together with which version you use here.
The new beta version uses an aim:goim link that works.
The script is currently only working with MSN Messenger 4.7.
Have to figure out how to get this working in version 5.0.
It should have opened a send message dialog in AIM. This should work in the new beta version.
