WhatwasIthinking, we’re not attempting to hide support access to customers at all if that’s what you’re implying. Also, for the third time now you’ve been told that a COMMUNITY SUPPORT FORUM does indeed exist and all problems seem to disappear when you simply register there and post your trouble(s) if you’ve got any.
The community support forum isn’t hard to miss and contact information usually is out of the way and not in plain view, this isn’t quite uncommon. There isn’t a need to continue to act the way you’re acting. If you’re able to repost my images you’re quite capable of finding a support link at the bottom of a web page and clicking on it.
As for e-mail tech support, Brock and I, the two developers of this program handle it all ourselves. When you e-mail support you talk to us directly and not somebody being paid to answer questions or complaints. We do this on top of development and on top of tending to our forum and managing the web site and servers. If you need support you have two choices, one is through e-mail and the other is through the community forum (which I’ve directed you towards before). Let’s not make it anymore difficult than it has to be.
I only posted those screen shots because you stated that the support links weren’t ever there to begin with when they were, you just weren’t able to find them. Whether this was your fault or mine is irrelevant. Let’s drop the heat from this thread now, it’s gone off topic and this isn’t a place for YTK Pro support, this is a thread on a completely separate forum tracking release information and other happenings related to YTK Pro.
You’re right it has gone off topic. But, just to let you know, my browser (Mozilla) DOES NOT SHOW the support link on your homepage…..hence my frustration and annoyance.

The Support Link on the Homepage which has been there before the first YTK Pro build released (on November 12th):
An additional E-Mail Support Link under the “Downloads Section”, been there since Day 1:
Sorry..didn’t see the link tucked away in the very lower left hand corner…like you couldn’t put it in the main menu somewhere??? Most people don’t keep looking below the copyright!! If you’re selling a product put the darn support link up where people can see it. Even after you posted the screenshot I still couldn’t find it for 5 minutes. A person shouldn’t have to look so hard to find it, or navigate to the download site after already purchasing it. I know…I know..it’s also in the EULA, rtf file too, but how many people are going to open the programs/ytk folder to find it?? And, it’s not even a LINK just an e-mail addy!

That’s a lot of nothing!! Now look, let’s be mature here. If you can’t get it activated it’s definitely an issue preventing it from happening on your end. So if you haven’t activated this yet send me a support e-mail or post on our forum, I’ve received neither from you but did receive a regnow support e-mail since you contacted them instead of [email protected]. Contact support not regnow, they can’t help you.
I never contacted regnow..except to purchase! And there was no support link on the YTK homepage!
December 22, 2006 at 10:19 pm in reply to: YTK Pro Now Available! *pre-release to release info tracking* #155871whatwasithinkingMemberWell…I plunked down my money for this thing…and…nothing!!! After installing the program the activation window pops up. I put in my code and then…nothing! The window disappears and …nothing! So I open the program and it wants my code again….same thing ad infinitum…nothing!!! Thanks a lot!!
whatwasithinkingMemberWhy does anyone want to spy on their buddies??
What would seem more useful would be the ability to see who was in a chat room before entering.
December 21, 2006 at 4:14 am in reply to: YTK Pro Now Available! *pre-release to release info tracking* #155870whatwasithinkingMemberThe reason I thought one needed to use a second chat client for the second account was per your instructions. I know of no way to log into Messenger with two accounts. Hence the only way to have two ID’s in the room to inable viewing text is to log in with another client.
Toggling back and forth between C mode and gawd mode also seems awkward since there is no way to know when you are being booted so you can put up defences and take them down at will. There is also the issue of voice laggers which would then require the room to be muted AND invisible.
December 20, 2006 at 4:12 pm in reply to: YTK Pro Now Available! *pre-release to release info tracking* #155869whatwasithinkingMemberSorry if I don’t quite understand the benefit of “gawd mode”. As mentioned earlier one would enter a room in gawd mode but not be able to view room text. One would then have to enter the room using another chat client with a different account ID in order to view the text. Presumably that second account would be very bootable with voice and pm’s enabled. When that second account is booted repeatedly one won’t be able to see much room text. And, ultimately when the second account is hard booted the pc will freeze and require shutdown and obviously ends the chat session. Yahoo still thinks you’re in the room, however, and you can’t re-enter until your ID is cleared.
I’ve used YMlite for about a month and find it very frustrating and awkward to use.
P.S. Thanks for the sarcasm. I wasn’t trying to make any decision for you. I was merely asking a question.
December 19, 2006 at 3:38 pm in reply to: YTK Pro Now Available! *pre-release to release info tracking* #155868whatwasithinkingMemberThanks for the link to the info. However,I fail to see how “Gawd Mode” is of benefit. If you have to enter the room with an additional id that is easier to boot can’t that alias be booted and result in a crashed computer that kicks BOTH id’s out of the room? In addition, if the alias is booted consistently upon entering a room you won’t be able to see much of what is being posted in the room. Unless you have full functionality, i.e. being able to post and view room text, enable voice, as well as send and receive pm’s what is the point?
As for the basic version, why develop something different? Just use the pro version with a free trial period.
December 18, 2006 at 7:40 pm in reply to: YTK Pro Now Available! *pre-release to release info tracking* #155867whatwasithinkingMemberWhen is the free version coming out? I have been hearing “very soon” for several months and still nothing. And what’s with the non-existant “free activation code” notice that appears on the activation window??
I hate spending money for software that may or may not work. In fact, the software industry is one of the few industries where people will pay money for something with known and sometimes planned design flaws. And considering the extent and severity of Yahoo booters it seems highly unlikely that any program will do the job. In fact, YTunnel has become so prone to booters it is not much better than Messenger alone.
A lot of people don’t know how bad this situation has become, instead they try to convince people a lot of the “booting” is just Yahoo logging you out of chat or a problem with your ISP connection. Believe me, after your computer freezes up the CPU begins to overheat and the whole thing needs to be shut down by pulling the plug you will not think it is Yahoo logging you out. It’s not an urban legend that these boot attempts can harm your computer.
