MemberJust tested version 1.0.21. Good news it no longer crashes when I reload list and seems to be more accurate. The bad news is the “check chat room” function no longer seems to work. I dont get the third icon coming up for “chat room” under a scanned users name under this version as I did with older versions (even when the user was not in a room.) I’ve clicked that function on and off, I’ve tried different servers, restarted the program, etc. It’s like this function has been disabled when I run it.
Well that’s my latest report from the field. Keep up the good work.

MemberI get the same issue with the chat checking, however occasionally it does work. I think it might be an issue with chat servers being overloaded. The last few days it has been difficult to even get into chat rooms and I know that others have had the same problems. Other than that it seems to be working great.
I did have a couple of feature requests. How about if during a scan there is the option of indicating on the folder icon which people were online? LIke making it a different color. Or better yet an option to just pop up folders for those people who are online? Then you dont have to open them all to find out. Another cool feature would be an indicator that showed what the status of a rescan was, like which names were currently being checked.
It’s a great tool. Keep up the great work.

MemberIn regards to the post about the “check chat room” feature, I’m so sure its a server load issue. I kept my previous version of Spy Buddy installed on my computer and that seems to run the chat room feature just fine. I then go to the latest version and the feature is missing. Havent been able to get it appear in any of my tests so far. Anyway, just wanted to pass that info along. Cheers.

Buddy Spy 1.0.22
*****************
I just uploaded new revision of buddy spy.aneagle, this version is specificaly geared towards your error.
So please, when you get a chance have a look at it.
As for your previous posts z, yes it is due to a server load issue.
If the server is not responding with the necessary packets, then buddy spy will not show any information.
I am actually going to re-work that, it will display all the levels selected by the scan method, as a default of offline, or not in room.
And update it that way.
I believe the bug that aneagle was experiencing was related to that, specifically the webcam scan.
The Webcam packets were not being returned fast enough.
So, I have added it to add the folder first, for all names being scanned.
That should solve the error.

ParticipantUnsakred,
1.0.22 is almost perfect, no crash, no popup error, single iD scan result is correct, webcam status comes with noticable delay and I guess nothing can be done about it.
List scan: the first ID on the list can’t get webcam status and the webcam part of the result is shifted forward by one ID. I turn on and off the webcam on the machine of an ID in the middle of the list and I see the webcam status changed on the next ID, it looks like all webcam status is shifted forward on the list and leaves a blank on the first ID.October 21, 2004 at 12:31 am #71663zbig

to tell you the truth, I vote that the room icon NOT show if it isnt getting a packet response from the server. Having the icon show one whether or not a packet returns increases the rate of false positives. At least you know that its a server load issue and that it is possible someone is in a room. Cheers!

MemberExcellent work UnSaKreD,
No problems found on 1.0.22 here 🙂
Some suggestions that I think would make it even better.
1)Minimize to taskbar feature.
2)Dulled out webcam and room icons if the user is not online like the buddy is offline icons, this would make it easier to spot online users when running the eyes down the list.
3)A resizable interface would be cool, this would allow for viewing a results list of more than 6 users without scolling.

Participantok I have the latest version.
im a beginner at this so here are my questions/problems.
do I have to type the real user name that I use in yaho messenger in the “user” field?
i did that, typed the password that I also use in my messenger, then next. it just shows the loading thingy but nothing more.October 23, 2004 at 4:55 am #71817aneagle
ParticipantprinceG, yes it should be one of your real ID registerd at yahoo, preferably an ID you never use to login yahoo messenger. If you don’t have a spare ID and you try to signon buddyspy with the same ID while you’re online on yahoo messenger, your yahoo messenger gets boot and goes offline. You can go to yahoo website and signin for a brand new ID to be used for buddyspy.

Participanti did that now, I have the messenger online with my normal ID, and made a new ID that I entered in buddy spy. but I click on next and nothing happens.. should I choose another server or something
P.S: I dont use a firewall, all the files are in the same folder, and I dont use @yahoo.com in the user field.

ParticipantYou can try and switch to different servers. Once your new ID logon is successful, buddyspy shows the new screen and you can see near right bottom corner it says Bot online. Put the new ID into your yahoo messenger buddy list and you can see it as online. Only 2 files need to be in the same folder, buddyspy.exe and YMSG12ENCRYPT.DLL, buddyspy needs some other files in windowssystem32, you’ll get a popup notification if one of them is missing.

Participantwell my bot is constantly off like because constantly I cant log on after the “next”, I tried several servers, and I cant see what can be the problem. I even turned off the firewall.
could u please post a list of the things that need to be done, just for a check, cause I dont think im missing something.October 24, 2004 at 12:50 pm #71819aneagle
Participant1. you have 2 files buddyspy.exe and ymsg12encrypt.dll in the same folder.
2. run buddyspy.exe, the first screen is more or less an introduction, click next.
3. the 2nd screen got the title User name Settings, enter the Bot user name, i.e. your spare yahoo ID without “@yahoo.com”, enter the password related to this ID. You can select a yahoo server by pulling down the combo-box. Click next. If the yahoo ID or password is not correct you’ll get a popup.
4. Buddyspy now is trying to login using the spare ID you’ve entered and normally the 3rd screen shows up when login is successful, the bottom right corner shows “Bot is Online”. The middle column let you select to scan single ID or multiple Id, you can right click and left click to explore and see what you can do within each sub-window. Bottom part or the middle column let you select what you want to know about the ID you are going to scan. Now you click next to start the scanning process. In the right column you’ll see the scanned ID’s appear one by one with a folder icon on the left side, double click the icon to see the result. It’s preferable to wait a few sec before double clicking the icon, it’s for buddyspy to get return info from yahoo server.Buddyspy uses port 5050 to login, I’m not sure if it looks for alternate port in case the 5050 is not available, Unsakred is the right person to answer this question. My guess is you are behind a proxy or firewall that has port 5050 closed.

MemberHi unsakred.
I tried 1.0.22 and it worked correctly. Unless it always says offline when I scanned to ID that forwarded to mobile phone (with a mobile phone avatar and “I’m on SMS” status).
I’ve tried BuddySpy 1.0.6 and also get the correct result, including the one than have “I’m on SMS”.
What happened with the newer one? Just now I have tried both 1.0.6 and 1.0.22 back to back and give me different result to the “I’m on SMS”
thanks
