ParticipantGot it, highlight an ID and remove is ok, I mean left click and then right click on an ID and click remove, but point to an ID and right click right away (without a left click) got Run-time error ‘5’ invalid procedure call argument and crash. I don’t get missing component error so far because there’s no missing return from Yahoo server, not easy to recreate the scenario.

ParticipantEdit, sorry, didn’t realise that my post goes to a new page.

Memberok…
so on the user list, you right click? then select delete?
and it gives you an error?
September 27, 2004 at 3:12 pm #71791aneagle
Participantright, just right click and select remove without left click first to highlight the ID gives that error.

Memberahh, ok. fixed.
anything else?September 27, 2004 at 3:27 pm #71792aneagle
ParticipantGood news, I got 4 missing returns on 5 ID scan and no error, no crash. It will be perfect to me if you change and get (right click or left click) -> popup menu.

ParticipantThe list is perfect, “remove” is grey when no object is selected. I tried more with list scan and it becomes more interesting: missing component error only appears when all ID’s from the list are offline but not all the times. I think it’s due to lost packet or corrupted packet from Yahoo server.

MemberVery sorry, same bug as previously…All scanned ID always “online”, not normal. What’s wrong?

MemberIm on broadband so the delay from packet sent and packet recieve might be different from what you have.
That is my only idea on that particular problem.
Since I havent been able to properly re-create the error,
I can’t particularly trap it, and correct it.
Generally when you do a status scan, it will add
“online” immediatly to the window, due to the fact the stealth check packet only returns if the user is not available or offline.
so here is a basic flow chart of what happens
Logged IN
-Send Status Check
-Add Online(by default)
– Wait for incomming message.
– if found, change treeview node text to display status offlineNow updating a treeview is a pain in the a**.
It loops through total nodes(buddies)
if it finds the buddy already listed, then it selects that node to modify. So my only two ideas for the current error,
are the packet is delayed quite a bit,
Yahoo! is sending back an unknown response.
Or the Update node is not working properly.
how big is the list you scan?
i have scanned a list w/ about 10 users max.
Also, I have noticed after a while, the server tends not to respond to the join room packet.
I have to disconnect and select another server…

MemberUnsakred I have a request, I have been followin some of the things u have been doing with Buddy Spy and I think it is great so far not to contrdict anything, let me change that I think is the best I have seen so far. What I am going ot ask u may or may not been posted already but is there a way instead of typing the name either for the tree or the one scan at a time list is it possible that you can have it that when I click on the name on yahoo messenger that it load automatic to Buddy Spy this way it will make it more eaiser to target who I am looking for and what they are doing. Please reply back ok

MemberAlthough that would be a great idea, the drain on system resources to do a constant search of open pm’s would be terrible.
The only feesable way of doing that is actaully injecting buddy spy into yahoo’s memory, which if done right, would allow a lot more automated options.
(Ytunnel uses this method)
Unfortunately, I do not know C++ well enogh to inject a dll into a specified memory address, to make that work.
But further down the line(if there is indeed a further) and I can successfully integrate the application into ypager, then yes it will be added.
But for now, like I said.. too much of a drain.
